SEMA 2011: The Icon Derelict Is A Hand-Crafted Rat Rod

Sure, it may look like a 1952 Chevy Business Coupe pulled from the scrap yard. But you’re wrong. Very wrong. This unassuming machine from Icon may look miserable, but a closer look reveals a 430 horsepower LS3 V8 underneath the rusty hood, and exotic wild crocodile and buffalo hide appointing the interior. The carpeting is even Wilton wool from Rolls Royce, and there’s an Aston Martin vintage headliner present as well. Even the wheels are custom and are embraced by ZR-rated BF Goodrich tires.

Other modern amenities paired with the Icon Derelict include a 4L65E automatic transmission, six-piston anti-lock brakes, an audio system from Focal and Parrot and even Bluetooth. If this brooding and outstanding restoration is something you like, Icon claims it is able to replicate nearly the same configurations to just about any old ride between the ’30s and ’70s. Rock on.
