If there’s one consistent theme across the updates in store for the 2016 model year Cadillac lineup, it would be updates to the Cadillac User Experience (CUE) infotainment system.
The updates range from making the system faster and easier to use to delivering new features such as being able to browse media via Bluetooth, without needed to connect using a USB cord:
- Improved system speed and performance
- Faster, more accurate map loading and voice command execution
- Faster service reprogramming
- Redesigned navigation interfaces
- Single press mute navigation voice/cancel route
- Expanded cities with 3D maps
- Bluetooth Media browsing
We’ve yet to use the new systems, but here’s to hoping that improved system speed and performance is noticeable. Stay tuned as we learn more.
Update: we’ve learned that pre-2016 model year Cadillacs will not be upgradable to take advantage of these updates.

Good Cadillac.
From this it is; listening to the people and make the best and most beautiful cars every day for them; and if there are any problems immediately fix
I am wondering if GM can do a software update to previous CUE equipped Cadillacs to bring it up to date to the 2016 model year equivalent.
Apparently not:

Give GM an A+ for listening to their customers and fixing what has been one of the biggest problems . To bad for the older CUE’s not getting this update .
And give them an F for not getting it right in the first place, nor equipping it with hardware/software than can be updated remotely.
Who wants to buy a 2015 with a CUE system that’s already outdated and can’t be changed without a physical reinstallation. At your cost.
Get a free Walkman with every 2015 Cadillac! It’s like buying a Dell desktop computer.
The current CUE system isn’t terrible! So I don’t really see a problem here. If you have a current model you will probably trade it in for a new Caddy with the upgrade. However, if you’re purchasing a pre-owned Caddy you will still have something your current vehicle doesn’t.
CarPlay?
My CUE in my 2016 Cadillac SRX has become intermittent (and continuing to become less responsive) in operation to my touch. It sometimes works at touch. Other times I can’t answer calls, listen to texts, stop the CD , or start the CD, etc. I tried the “Hard reset” explained on this site in 2015 but that did not work. Occasionally shutting off the car and opening the door is the only way to stop the CD. Ocasionally shutting and opening the door a few times will make the CD player on CUE work for a short period of time. Any suggestions?
I have a 2016 Cadillac XTS that both my wife and I REALLY like, and it has only 53,000 miles. However, the CUE system is intermittent and even though I have reset it through the “load system, open CUE compartment cover, shut off car, open driver’s door, wait 60 seconds, restart everything” fix that is advertised, it only works for a short while and again starts flashing and flipping and is non-responsive to touch. Estimates at local dealer are expensive just for a diagnosis, and their prediction of what can be required to fix it is frightening. Does anyone have ANY suggestions how to go about getting a reasonably priced fixed of this flawed system?
