General Motors made a big splash at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this year, introducing a variety of new concepts while underlining its commitment to electric vehicles and new technology. Among the concepts revealed at CES was mention of a new two-seater Cadillac concept with a battery-driven powertrain and stress-reducing cabin space, leading to speculation over what the new Caddy might look like.
At this point, details on the new two-seat Cadillac concept are few and far between, with GM’s vice president of global design, Michael Simcoe, providing a brief description of the vehicle during a 51-minute keynote video presentation released for CES 2021.
“We have other concepts coming including a luxurious two-seater designed for you and someone very special to decompress, relax and enjoy a multi-sensory experience choreographed for more intimate journeys,” Simcoe explains during the presentation.
While this isn’t much to go on, there is one possibility we can point to with regard to the exterior design of this new two-seater Cadillac concept.
As GM Authority covered back in 2018, General Motors previously filed a design patent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) that shows what appears to be a new Cadillac coupe model. The design bears a streamlined and elegant body, with cab-back proportions and an upturned rear tail section.
The look mates elegance and precision with a sporty, yet luxurious feel, which could be the perfect combo for the as-of-yet unnamed two-seater Cadillac concept. Critically, the front end of this design also looks to contain early fascia cues replicated in the new Cadillac Lyriq crossover and Cadillac Celestiq flagship sedan. Pair all that with the lack of any obvious exhaust outlets (suggesting an EV powertrain under the skin), and this could very well be the upcoming two-seater Cadillac concept Simcoe mentioned in his presentation.

Sounds exciting. Cadillac needs a grand coupe. Every luxury brand needs one. Cadillac has produced many stunning concept coupes over the years.

I really like the Elmiraj and the Ciel concepts. I would like a more el dorado style for their flagship car instead of the Escalade which is a great SUV it’s just that I’d prefer a sedan or a coupe/convertible.

…..you know, completely ignoring that the vehicle referenced in the figures is a drivers car -a proper GT that Cadillac has sworn off ever making again because they don’t actually care about performance enthusiast, only bored housewives that need to look important as they go to the grocery store- but the “Two-Seater” is supposed to be some kind of semi-autonomous hotbox for you to “decompress, relax and enjoy a multi-sensory experience choreographed for more intimate journeys” in. At best, this “Two-Seater” will be a glorified XT4. Why the hell would you think anyone who wants to go a some kind of psychedelic trip with “someone special” be interested in a sportscoupe???
Those are back up lights. Cadillac’s have the back up lights in the center for awhile now. Those are not exhaust.
No, they’re not: what’s shown is significantly larger (mostly in the “tall/up-and-down” direction) than those on the ATS & 3rd Gen CTS, and the CT4/5’s are even smaller than the aforementioned. Why in an age when we technology is advancing and we can generate more light from a smaller area they decide to put a massive revers lens in?
Moreover – the “cover” is spilt up the center almost exactly the same as the CTS Coupe – the alpha-based revers lights are one-piece.

While the patent drawings are clearly of an ICE model, it’s rumored that Celestiq’s design was originally meant to sit on an updated Omega platform and replace the CT6.
When the decision was made to transition Cadillac to electric, that design as well as others appear to have followed.
That being said, I don’t believe this is the two seater model but strongly resembles it.

These renderings were patented years ago (even before GMA posted them in 2018). They show a design for a CT5 Sister Coupe that did not make it to production.
In fact I think GMA knows this.
The upcoming 2 Seat CONCEPT (and remember it is just and only that so far) may look something like this rendering. But I feel it a sure bet that the Cadillac Studio has moved on from this aesthetic long ago. It will have much more in common with the Lyric than the CT5.

My “rage” is coming from annoyance with the brand itself (both with the direction [or lack thereof] in which it is moving AND with the physical dealership/customer service experience I’m currently suffering), then seeing the crap that is being “published” on this page, and then further by the sheep in the comment section that worship whatever Cadillac does out of blind loyalty.

It looks like you made an Avista into a Cadillac here.
Aside from the fact that it’s a 2 door with a sloping roofline, this design has nothing in common with the Avista Concept.
How well did the 2 door version of the Chevy Volt sell at twice the cost of the Volt?
Since it’s going to be a 2 seater, I expect the Concept will be a drop top of some kind.
Like it for the most part. Not a fan of of the front end language, kind of dorky in a bad way, but liking the long body lines. I am all for simpler body panels without a dozen swoops, creases, intersects and ducts.

Seen this maybe what, 2 years ago or so? Would have been nice to see Cadillac utilize the C7 (this looks almost C7 or Camaro based) and C8 corvette platforms for a future/current Cadillac coupe and Cadillac Supercar(XLR). I bet the GM design people have some pretty cool concepts based off it. Doubtful to see anything ever but, hopeful to say the least.
This is an Alpha 2 car. A still born CT5 companion.
Realized, however the wheelbase/pic doesn’t resemble the car I look at all day, the current CT5. Front pic is CT5 all day. I understand coupes always have a windshield rake to them but, this would be one hell of a rake on a CT5! Would love to see that but, ,I think I would also like to see a larger coupe. Cadillacs are known for being “large cars”, give people what they want (like a BMW M8, etc.). Lots of “established” clients of mine would buy a 2 door Cadillac for their work commute if they had something to rival THAT market. We have nothing except for some cool stuff in the closet.
