GM has been on tear with its design studies this year, dropping two jaw-dropping Cadillac concept vehicles in two consecutive months with the Sollei convertible in July, followed by the Opulent Velocity in August. Both of these concepts demand attention, but for completely different reasons. The question is – which do you prefer?
Let’s start with the Sollei. Debuting as a drop-top version of the all-electric Cadillac Celestiq sedan, the Sollei takes the roof off to reveal a high-end, two-door, open-air driving experience, complete with top-shelf materials and classic Cadillac throwbacks. The front end looks familiar, with the same fascia design as the Celestiq, but as we move down the flanks, we see the front doors extended and the rear doors removed, giving it a sleeker two-door appearance. The A-pillar drops off to show off a gorgeous 2+2 cabin layout, providing passengers with unlimited headroom in the process. The belt line draws the eye rearwards to a slightly upturned rear hump, finishing with an extended rear overhang and upturned rear lights. The rear end also incorporates a slick horizontal taillight that emphasizes the visual width of the convertible Cadillac concept. The exterior is covered in Manila Cream paint, a nod to Caddy’s factory colors from the ‘50s.
Inside the cabin, the Cadillac Sollei features the luxury marque’s signature 55-inch pillar-to-pillar digital screen, while the upholstery incorporates renewable Fine Mycelium upholstery matched with Fine Nappa leather, as well as a few other high-end features, such as a beverage chiller with a power glass door.
Then we have the Cadillac Opulent Velocity, which offers up a more performance-oriented, sci-fi vibe. The exterior design takes inspiration from Caddy’s motorsport efforts, namely the V-Series.R hybrid race cars, and incorporates a set of butterfly doors that enhance the drama considerably. The sleek exterior is covered in Gilded Pearl paint, while the stance hugs the ground with purpose.
Moving inside, the sci-fi theme continues, with drivers offered two driving modes. Opulent mode focuses on comfort and relaxation, leveraging Level 4 autonomous driving technology, while Velocity mode enables the human pilot to take control and enjoy the thrill of a high-performance all-electric powertrain.
So, with all that covered, we still want to know – which Cadillac concept do you prefer? Tell us by voting in the poll, and don’t forget to sound off in the comments!

NONE OF ABOVE
The point is …”lets see how the appointed Design Director of Rolls Royce” will complete ruin with the Brand
If only one the Convertible. It would be the Halo Car.
I prefer both with a V-8
If they were chicks, the Sollei has a nicer azz.
Drop top luxury. I’m a land yacht type of guy. Leave that scifi crap to Elon and his stainless door wedge.
Cadillac makes midsized cars.
Traditional Cadillac buyers want big !
No interest in an EV, but they nailed the marketing on the Sollei. It looks like your rich wine aunt’s car. The Opulent looks better to me, but the proportions of the whole back half are off.
Both too large of barges.
Need a smaller real luxury coupe.
I prefer a 2025 CT-6 twin turbo V-6!!!
Opu-velo, cause they made an effort on the facia instead of pulling the same ol plastic fantastic face off a designed-5-years-ago, crass, mass market suv.
I sincerely like them both , but see the Soliel as more glamorous Cadillac appeal.
The Velocity is a great futuristic, interpretation of Cadillac, but it’s rear light, although appealing are horizontal, and not Cadillac vertical.
I will never understand why today’s Cadillac designer’s do not see how important the iconic Cadillac vertical ‘ fins ‘ are ?
They have to be the most interesting car designs, in post WWII automobile history.
The Cadillac appeal was due to there exciting presence, even when muted , post 1964 .
