In the recent 2024 America Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) study, Chevy was ranked right on average in regard to consumer satisfaction.
With a score of 79 out of a possible 100 points in the mass-market segment, the Bow Tie brand was ranked seventh overall with a zero-percent change in its score as compared to the 2023 calendar year. Subaru led the pack with a score of 83 points and a subsequent percentage change of one percent, while Chrysler had the worst score at 71 points. For context, Chevy posted the same score in the 2023 rendition of the ACSI study.
It’s worth noting that the average score in the mass-market segment was 79 points, meaning Chevy tied with the average.
Interestingly, General Motors’ other mass-market brands – including GMC and Buick – were given the scores of 79 and 80 points, respectively.
There were several key takeaways from the mass-market segment of this study, including:
- Five of the top six highest mass-market brands for customer satisfaction were import brands
- While satisfaction improvement was flat overall, metrics for gas mileage and vehicle technology both showed notable gains
- Continued high levels of ACSI performance for Subaru and Toyota was reflected in the two automaker’s sales gains
- Kia, Ford, Volkswagen, and Ram all posted strong 2024 ASCI gains
- Customers are more highly satisfied with hybrid or ICE-power vehicles as compared to EVs
For context, the 2024 ACSI Automobile Study was based on 12,173 completed surveys, chosen at random and contacted via email between July 2023 and June 2024. Contacted consumers were asked to evaluate their recent experiences with automobile brands manufactured by the largest companies in terms of market share, plus an aggregate category consisting of all other – and thus smaller – automotive nameplates. ACSI scores were then given with a range from zero to 100.

LOL, says who? Subaru is first? Maybe that not too tough when you sell about 15 cars in this country.
Kia ranked above Chevy? No way! Who did they ask?
I would absolutely buy a Chevy before any of the brands ahead of it in this survey, except for the Buick.
