EVgo Hires Former GM Director Of EV Infrastructure Deployment

Electric vehicle charging company EVgo has announced that it has hired former GM EV Infrastructure Deployment Director Alex Keros.

According to a report from The Detroit News, Keros will join the company as Product Senior Vice President after spending almost 18 years with General Motors on commercializing advanced technology and developing new business models for the deployment of all-electric vehicles and other technologies. As previously mentioned, Keros’ most recent role was as Director of GM EV Infrastructure Deployment, a position he departed from roughly three months ago in order to “explore new opportunities.”

Interestingly, this isn’t the first hire EVgo has made from an individual who held a prominent role at an American automaker. In fact, former Tesla Charging Leaders Martin Sukup and Jeff Inhofer were recently elevated to the positions of EVgo Engineering Executive Vice President and EVgo Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Engineering Vice President, respectively.

For background, EVgo is one of The General’s charging infrastructure partners, and has multiple strategies for product and services, including market research and defining product requirements. As one of the largest public fast-charging networks for electric vehicles, EVgo is working with the Detroit-based automaker make more than 3,250 fast-charging stations available nationwide by the end of the 2025 calendar year. As of last year, the two entities had installed 1,000 stations.

In other EVgo-related developments, EVgo and FLO both announced that they were shifting to North American Charging Standard (NACS) connectors. Of course, General Motors electric vehicles will be transitioning to the NACS connector by 2025.

“EVgo first deployed integrated Tesla connectors in 2020, and with the recently announced expansion of the number of automakers using the NACS connector, we are excited to announce that we will also be integrating NACS connectors on the EVgo network in future deployments as well as on some existing chargers,” EVgo CEO Cathy Zoi noted in a prepared statement.

  1. Hopefully he will get EVGo chargers installed in North Scottsdale AZ area, Cadillac gives two years free charging at EVGO bragging how many charges around the area which was false. One 50kw in N Scottsdale where there are probably more EV cars than all of AZ. You have to drive to Phoenix 18 miles away to find 350kw charger and its been broken for six months. Cadillac definitely used bait and switch with false information. Why the heck don’t Cadillac dealers have EVGO charges in their parking lot?? Makes no sense.
