2025 GMC Sierra HD Pro And SLE Get Optional Front Park Assist

Just one model year removed from a 2024 mid-cycle refresh, the 2025 GMC Sierra HD is expected to introduce just minor changes to Big Red’s heavy-duty pickup truck. That being said, one of these updates is expanded availability of the Front Park Assist feature across the Sierra HD‘s trim lineup.

For the 2025 model year, front park assist will now be available on Sierra HD Pro and SLE trim levels as part of either the 1SA Pro Safety Plus Package (RPO code PQA) or Sierra HD Pro Safety Plus Package (RPO code PED), respectively. Previously, the Front and Rear Park Assist feature was optional on the SLT model as part of the same Sierra HD Pro Safety Plus Package (RPO code PED), and equipped as standard fare on the AT4, AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate trims.

In regard to specifics, 2024 Sierra HD Pro units equipped with the 1SA Pro Safety Plus Package (RPO code PQA) included the following equipment (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):

• Rear Park Assist (UD7)
• Rear Cross Traffic Alert (UFG)
• Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert (UKC)
• Trailer mirrors (DWI)

For the 2025 GMC Sierra HD Pro, the same package will now include (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):

• Front and Rear Park Assist (UD5)
• Rear Cross Traffic Alert (UFG)
• Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert (UKC)
• Trailer mirrors (DWI)

It’s worth noting that the PQA package still requires opting for the Convenience Package (RPO code PCI), yet no longer requires the trailer brake controller (RPO code JL1) feature, as the latter will now be standard on Pro units.

In regard to the Sierra HD SLE, 2024 models equipped with the Sierra HD Pro Safety Plus Package (RPO code PED) included the following content (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):

• Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert (UKV)
• Rear Cross Traffic Alert (UFG)
• Bed View Camera (UVN) – Double Cab and Crew Cab only
• HD Surround Vision (UV2)
• Trailer Camera Provisions (TRG)
• Rear Park Assist (UD7)
• In-Vehicle Trailering App (UET)

Meanwhile, the same package will include the following equipment for the 2025 GMC Sierra HD SLE (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):

• Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert (UKV)
• Rear Cross Traffic Alert (UFG)
• Bed View Camera (UVN) – Double Cab and Crew Cab only
• HD Surround Vision (UV2)
• Trailer Camera Provisions (TRG)
• Front and Rear Park Assist (UD5)
• In-Vehicle Trailering App (UET)

As a reminder, the Sierra HD rides on a more capable variant of the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan.
