General Motors has just officially announced the debut and imminent arrival of the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe in China.

The automaker announced that the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe will imminently arrive in China, where the iconic American SUV will debut on April 25th at the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China). In fact, that same day, reservations for the 2025 Tahoe will begin to be accepted in the Chinese market as the first product of The Durant Guild – GM’s new premium import and lifestyle platform in the Asian country.

Notably, the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe will officially roll out in China nearly five months after the refreshed model’s global debut in Detroit on November 29th, 2023. The 2025 Tahoe will headline a select collection of GM vehicles that The Durant Guild will bring to 2024 Auto China to showcase the company’s legendary history, technological innovations and refined craftsmanship.

With its refined design and state-of-the-art interior, the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe will stand out in the world’s largest automotive market with its imposing proportions and exceptional historical heritage that traces its lineage to the forerunner of the SUV, the Suburban Carryall. In this sense, the 2025 Tahoe’s “Embrace a Bigger World” introductory slogan in China highlights The Durant Guild’s ambition to grow in local niche segments.

A unique and very notable feature of the 2025 Chevy Tahoe for China is that it will equip GM’s TurboMax engine, which represents a first for the full-size SUV worldwide. Although the company has not yet specified it, this means that units of the 2025 Tahoe for the Chinese market would carry the 2.7L I4 L3B turbocharged engine with 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque for the first time on the nameplate.

The refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe will debut and the brand will begin accepting reservations in China on April 25th during the 2024 Auto China, beginning the local introduction of Chevrolet’s successful SUV under the umbrella of the new The Durant Guild corporate import platform. The 2025 Tahoe units will reach the Chinese market imported from the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

  1. Displacement taxes in China. Almost no other choice could have been made.

  2. Sell it here! Remember when they made Tahoe with the 3rd row delete “Custom” model for $5k less? Pepperidge Farms remembers. Also give me a Hybrid with this engine (for scaredy-cats) and a Hybrid with the 3.0l Duramax (for pro’s) this would be the perfect vehicle.

  3. A 4 cylinder Tahoe. Something feels wrong about that.

    1. At minimum at least a 6 cyl twin turbos like Fords Eco Boost. Min 380Hp Min 450lbs torque then we can talk about a real 2025 Tahoe. 4cyl Turbo may work well with the 2024 Chevy Traverse but not for a bigger, heavier Tahoe.

  4. In China, if the landing price of the 2025 TAHOE Z71 is less than $70000, I will still consider it instead of waiting for Traverse 2024

  5. Unsuitable engine for such a heavy truck.

    1. Seems like the Tahoe weighs about the same as the Silverado crew cab that already uses this engine.

Would not be surprised if this engine is offered on the Tahoe in the US as well.

  6. I would love a tahoe with the 2.7! I got it over the 5.3 in my sierra. Its a great torquey engine and I get good gas mileage! Just maybe give it the 10-speed.
