GM Appoints Molly Peck As New Chief Transformation Officer

General Motors has appointed seasoned GM executive Molly Peck to the role of Chief Transformation Officer, a new position created amidst changes in marketing and brand development for the automotive giant. The move is part of a broader marketing overhaul under the guidance of Norm de Greve, GM’s newly appointed Global Chief Marketing Officer, signaling a potentially transformative phase for the company’s marketing and agency collaborations. Peck will assume the new role May 1st, 2024.

Per a recent report from AdAge, GM’s transformation team, under Peck’s leadership, will delve into the intricacies of agency operations, aiming to establish a cohesive framework for engaging with creative partners. This includes the appointment of Jane Hussar as Manager of Agency Operations and Jaztan Teen as Agency Operations Lead, roles specifically crafted to streamline agency collaboration and enhance operational efficiency.

Molly Peck previously served as chief marketing officer at global Buick and GMC, a position she held since 2021. Her tenure as CMO included significant marketing initiatives, notably with the introduction of a new tagline for Buick. With Peck’s reassignment, Suzie Guzzo will oversee marketing at global Buick and GMC.

The recent reorganization efforts are reflective of General Motors’ ambition to recalibrate its marketing model, potentially shifting towards a more dynamic and diversified agency approach amid an ongoing evaluation of its creative, media, and customer relationship management business. With the automotive sector at a pivotal juncture, in particular with the transition towards electric vehicles, GM’s marketing overhaul will be a critical component to the automaker’s success.

For now, the exact type of creative agency model that General Motors will implement is unclear.

“Our customers are evolving how they connect with brands,” said Global Chief Marketing Officer de Greve in a statement. “To build strong brands and business value, we continuously evaluate every aspect of our marketing model with a vision to lead.”

  1. It seems that there is a lot of over salaried fat at the top of GM’s organization structure. How about reducing corporate officers positions and producing affordable cars that the average American can afford.

  2. You mean, she’s actually not going to be overseeing transformers?

Isn’t this technically the job of the division presidents? Lots of buerecrates with nonsense jobs. If I had to guess, she’s a trust fund child who flunked out of medical school, so her dad who owns tons of GM stock and plays golf with board members asked for a “favor.” How about GM stop waisting our stock money before we start a fiduciary class action lawsuit.

    1. It really means she’s in “study hall” until they can find a real job for her. It’s bit like being on sabbatical until they figure out what to do with her.

  4. Transformation Officer ~ goat roping job that adds nothing to the bottom line. Just another token female to feed at the trough.

  5. Is it ok to hire a male for a job at GM these days??? Thinking not, goes against the BS WOKE – white men are toxic- DEI Biden* agenda.
