Alongside the Buick Electra-L Concept sedan, General Motors also revealed the all-new, all-electric Buick Electra-LT Concept in China.
The Buick Electra-LT Concept has just officially debuted as one of SAIC-GM’s main novelties at the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China), the most important automotive event in China that has just opened its doors. The Electra-LT Concept was introduced as a complement to the Electra-L sedan with a bolder shooting brake body style.
In fact, the all-new Buick Electra-LT Concept is basically the same vehicle as the midsize to large Electra-L, with some design and configuration tweaks that give it a more adventurous character. Both share design lines and general body structure, with identical side panels up to the C-pillar where the Electra-LT introduces its shooting brake appearance with a longer roof, a third single window and a more prominent D-pillar. Both seem to have been influenced by a cross between the Buick Wildcat EV Concept unveiled in 2022 and the Buick Proxima Concept that debuted in 2023.
Meanwhile, the Buick Electra-LT’s rear section brings exclusive elements that include a hatch with integrated spoiler and a less pronounced ducktail shape above the lights. Additionally, the Electra-LT Concept is said to feature a smart air suspension with an additional 1.6-inch lift, larger titanium wheels, fender protectors, luggage rails and a roof rack.
Technically, the Buick Electra-LT Concept uses the same powertrain as the Electra-L sedan consisting of a single Ultium Drive motor mounted on the rear axle that generates 255 kW or 342 horsepower, along with an Ultium Battery pack of unspecified capacity. However, SAIC-GM says that the shooting brake variant of the concept vehicle adds an “innovative” independent four-wheel drive system that enhances its adventurous approach.
At this time, it’s unclear whether the automaker has plans to bring the all-new Buick Electra-LT Concept shooting brake into series production like the Electra-L Concept, which has a more conventional shape and serves as a preview for a future zero-emission midsize sedan within the Electra family. In any case, the fact of having an almost identical body right up to the C-pillar, in addition to the same interior design and powertrain, would make it easy to manufacture alongside the sedan.

I think I like this one the best out of the two.
Why do they call vehicles that look like station wagons a “shooting brake”?
If only there were some way you could access a vast source of information with a simple query. Maybe call it something interesting? Like “internet” or “google”.
Shooting Brake is generally a two-door sports wagon.
Comes from aristocratic designs of England where they would take them hunting.
This is not really a shooting brake because it’s four door.
I’d buy this, I’d buy both. I’d drool in the showroom over the Wildcat. GM won’t build any of them…
This would be a stunner with wood siding. Estate Wagon anyone?
This is the Chinamen version of the Opel Buick Regal Tour X. Comes with Tik Tok preloaded.
Yes, please
The current ” long roof Buick just needs some styling updates like body color wheel arches, revised front and rear facia.
Those are both really nice, I hope at some point GM decides to bring more focus on Buick in North America.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE General Motors bring a sporty wagon to the US market. I don’t care if it’s electric or ICE. There are those of us out there who LOVE LOVE LOVE wagons (and / or HOT HATCHES) and are so tired of seeing the Europeans (and now the Chinese) get all the gorgeous cars while we get only the Cookie Cutter Look-Alike Soccer Mom Utilty Vehicles here in the US.
Seriously though, when did Americans suddenly become allergic to wagons, coupes, convertibles, sedans, minivans, sports cars, hatchbacks … (BASICALLY %$#&ING EVERYTHING that isn’t a crossover or a truck? LAME!)
Still have wagons and hatchbacks, they just have slapped some black plastic cladding on them and the marketing department calls them crossovers or CUVs.
