Chevy Traverse Inventory Light In November 2023

As of November 2023, inventory levels of the Chevy Traverse across the United States were light, sources familiar with the matter tell GM Authority.

Although the exact number of available units on dealership lots wasn’t detailed, the Traverse was running at a 30 days supply as of mid-November 2023, meaning there is sufficient Traverse inventory for 30 days at the current sales pace. As context, a 60 days supply is considered optimal across the industry.

It’s worth noting that the Traverse enjoyed its best October sales month since 2020, coming in spite of a UAW strike that halted production for several weeks.

Notably, this is the highest days supply figure the Chevy Traverse has featured in quite some time. In August 2023, the Bow Tie brand’s crossover featured a 19 days supply, while in July 2023, the Traverse posted an 18 days supply. Before that, June 2023 figures reflected a 16 days supply figure, along with a 17 and 19 days supply in May 2023 and April 2023, respectively.

In regard to sales numbers, the Traverse had a strong showing for Q3 2023, with sales jumping considerably when compared to the same time period last year.

Looking forward, the third-generation Chevy Traverse is set to debut for the 2024 model year. However, the next-gen model is now scheduled to launch later in the model year, while a carry-over Traverse Limited will be offered prior to the introduction of the third-gen model. Of course, as a carry-over model, the 2024 Traverse Limited will be largely similar to the current 2023 Traverse.

Under the hood, the current Traverse is powered exclusively by the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, while output is directed to the ground via the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.

In regard to structure, the Traverse rides on the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.
