Carbon Fiber-Bodied Corvette Z06 Unveiled By Sigala Designs: Video

The new C8 Corvette Z06 looks stunning right off the showroom floor, but sometimes, stock just won’t cut it, no matter how good it looks. That’s where a company like Sigala Designs comes in, offering up some impressive aero and styling upgrades to those C8 Corvette Z06 customers keen to customize their ride. Now, Sigala Designs has unveiled its new full-carbon C8 Corvette Z06 at the recent Corvettes at Carlisle event, as documented in the following video.

A carbon-bodied C8 Corvette Z06 from Sigala Designs.

Clocking in at about 11-and-a-half minutes, the video shows the Sigala Designs team as it transports the full-carbon C8 Corvette Z06 all the way across the country for Corvettes at Carlisle, traveling from San Diego to Pennsylvania. After arriving at their destination, the team takes the Z06 to a local self-service car wash to get clean it up for the show. Indeed, the Sigala Designs full-carbon C8 Corvette Z06 looks nuts, with a full range of forged carbon fiber body panels that kick up the visual impact by a substantial margin.

The video continues at the Corvettes at Carlisle event, where the full-carbon C8 Corvette Z06 rolls on stage for the official reveal. After pulling the sheets, the crowd rushes to the front of the stage to snap some photos.

The lines and styling appear to be identical to those of the C8 Corvette Z06’s Z07 Performance package, and include the same pronounced front splitter, front canards, and massive rear wing. Each of these components, as well as the rest of the body, is done in forged carbon, which presents a mottled black-and-gray appearance that differs from the grid-like appearance of a woven carbon fiber material.

“This project has been in the works for some time now and we knew this show was something we couldn’t miss,” Sigala Designs writes. “Although the Z06 is not at 100 percent yet, for SEMA 2023 this car will have more carbon fiber than it does now with the engine bay and interior being in carbon as well!”

  1. Cool car.
I mean the ZO6 is begging for the road legal GT3 treatment (even Ford has done it with stang). It has for the first time all the recipes for being the greatest and fastest car on any track in the world. They can shed a lot of pounds in the transmission alone (delete one gear, make gear ratios shorter, add magnesium dct case which alone will be equal to ~100 pounds). Next is titanium exhaust. Then make doors, hood, trunk from carbon fibre reinforced plastic like Porsche.
Then they can move into the interior; put carbon fibre buckets, remove leather, metal speakers, armrests, door handles etc. Altogether they can shed 300-400 pounds. And the last thing is double the downforce. There you have it. Will give almost all the track cars a run for their money. Only if wishes were horses…

  2. I wish they would have used the weave pattern instead. Looking at it at times seems like chips in the body

  3. So what is the expected weight savings? Isn’t that the point? If they’re not going to tell us, there is no point.

  4. Taking a gear out of the trans will lower the fuel avg that they need for there across the board avg and raise the gas text even higher. More CF in side like the seats is a good idea but CF is very hard to get and so expensive, people are all ready b!tching it is no longer the working man’s sports car. The exhaust is so short I wouldn’t think it would effect the power to weight ratio. That being said I will probably do it to my ZO6. I have Ti exhaust on my bikes and love it. Light weight trans housing is a great idea. A while back there were rumors of that for the ZO6. Maybe they are saving that for the ERay to help off set the weight of the batteries.
As far as this new CF I think it looks like cheap particle board stained black. Just my opinion, most of the time I don’t know what I’m talking about so take it with a grain of salt. Thanks 😎
