General Motors recently launched the new 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV in Ecuador, the third country in South America to receive Chevrolet’s small all-electric crossover after Colombia and almost simultaneously with Brazil.
The new 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV was officially launched in Ecuador as the Bow Tie brand’s first electric vehicle in that country, where the manufacturer begins the path towards sustainable mobility with its zero-emissions proposal and marks the transition to the next generation of EVs that will be launched starting next year in the region. As such, the Bolt EUV kicks off GM’s strategy to lead the electric car market in South America.
“What we are announcing on this occasion is the beginning of the era of Chevrolet electrification, which brings with it a strategy of solutions and channels designed for all audiences in Ecuador, starting with the introduction of the 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV,” said Director of Commercial Operations and Consortium at GM South America, Rafael Santos, in a statement.
Exactly the same as in the other two South American countries where it is available, the 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV arrived in Ecuador with a single variant equivalent to the range-topping Premier trim level. This means that the vehicle comes standard with a comprehensive package of class-leading technologies and safety such as on-board Wi-Fi, the company’s latest infotainment system with wireless connectivity and integrated Google services, OnStar, driving assist systems and much more.
In addition, the 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV’s powertrain is ideal for anyone looking for their first zero-emission vehicle, with no mobility restrictions and good driving range. It is powered by an electric motor that generates 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, fed by a 65 kWh battery pack that provides a range of 456 km or 283 miles, according to the WLTP cycle.
The new 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV is now available for sale in the Chevrolet dealer network in Ecuador, where the brand is developing the EV charging infrastructure for its models with the initial installation of 12 charge points located in various dealerships nationwide. GM affirms that the offer will be progressively expanded as the electric car market in the country does. Here is the price of the 2023 Bolt EUV in Ecuador:
- 2023 Bolt EUV Premier: $47,490 USD, the official currency in Ecuador.

I thought the Bolt is soon to be history. Is Ecuador aware of this?
Are we back to building and selling defunct American cars in South America again?
Stop sale in the US. Sell them everywhere else around the world. Emerging markets will eventually catch up.
