Chevy Trax Running At 22 Days Supply At End Of November 2022

National inventory for the 2022 Chevy Trax crossover was running at a 22 days supply at the end of November, 2022, GM Authority has learned.

According to sources familiar with GM’s inventory situation, there were 941 units of the 2022 Chevy Trax on the ground at the end of November, 2022, which means the crossover was running at a 22 days supply in U.S. dealerships. A 60 days supply was considered optimal in the U.S. auto industry prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and the global supply shortage crisis.

Notably, national inventory for the Chevy Trax was running at a 16 days supply at the beginning of October, per previous GM Authority coverage. That said, production of the 2022 Chevy Trax ended at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea on November 30th, and as such, available units will begin to decline going forward.

The Chevy Trax arrived in the U.S. market for the 2015 model year, but launched in international markets for the 2013 model year. Under the hood, the 2022 Chevy Trax cradles the turbocharged 1.4L I4 LE2 gasoline engine, which is rated at 155 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. Output is put to the ground through either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, while the GM six-speed automatic transmission handles the cog swaps. Under the body panels, the 2022 Chevy Trax rides on the GM Gamma II platform.

With regard to sales, the Chevy Trax saw a 47-percent sales decline for the first three quarters of the 2022 calendar year, posting 21,882 deliveries and ranking 14th among the top 20 models in the mainstream subcompact crossover segment.
