Here Is The 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST Performance Edition

Chevy just unveiled a fresh special edition package for the 2023 Chevy Tahoe, offering sporty-minded enthusiasts a number of pursuit-rated upgrades and underhood goodies via the new 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST Performance Edition.

Making its formal debut at the 2022 North American International Auto Show, also known as the Detroit Auto Show, the new 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST Performance Edition runs the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine with the Chevrolet Performance induction and exhaust systems bolted in to add an extra 13 horsepower and 7 pound-feet of torque, bringing peak output figures to 433 horsepower and 467 pound-feet of torque. Output is directed to the Tahoe’s four-wheel drive system exclusively by way of the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.

These upgrades result in quicker acceleration, with 60 mph arriving in less than 5.78 seconds (5.95 seconds for base RST), and the quarter mile completed in 14.2 seconds at 97 mph (14.4 seconds at 97 mph for base RST). Top speed is upped to 124 mph (112 mph for base RST). Max trailering capacity matches the base RST at 7,600 pounds.

Other performance components taken from the Chevy Tahoe PPV are also included, such as unique engine and suspension calibrations, along with 275/55VR20 Firestone Firehawk Pursuit tires. The 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST Performance Edition offers stronger braking power with a 60-mph-to-0 stopping distance of 133 feet, thanks to Brembo front and rear brakes, complete in a Torch Red finish for the calipers.

Aesthetic upgrades include black RST badges in the rear, while standard sport pedals are found in the cabin.

Additionally, the new 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST Performance Edition bundles in the Luxury Package (RPO code WPL), which includes the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • Outside heated power-adjustable, power-folding, body-color mirrors with driver-side auto-dimming and integrated turn signal indicators (DXR)
  • Power tilt and telescopic steering column (N38)
  • Heated steering wheel (KI3)
  • Second-row outboard heated seats (KA6)
  • Second-row power 60/40 split-folding bench seats (ATT)
  • Third-row power 60/40 split-folding bench seats (AS8)

To note, the second-row bench seat can be swapped for the Second-row power bucket seats (RPO code ATN), if desired.

The 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST Performance Edition package is priced at $8,525, with production kicking off in Q4 of the 2022 calendar year at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

    1. It’s sad that people feel they need luck to be able to purchase a very very expensive SUV.

      1. And guess what? If GM is BSing with the ordering then I will just say screw it. It’s literally their loss as dealers are flat out struggling.

Second thing I noticed….this thing has Rear heated/cooled seats and not the front seats…smh…only GM would package something like this.

        1. Dealers are definitely not struggling. Any comment they are further solidifies their manipulation and the fact they need to be pushed off the pedestal they’ve put themselves on.

Auto manufactures and dealers are making more money then ever.

        2. The front seats are heated/cooled, the rears are just heated, no cooling for rear.

  6. I am a GM Performance owner (Camaro SS and C7 GS) and I always upgrade my vehicles myself because that is part of the fun. With that being said, buy a new Tahoe and build it yourself for much less.

$8,500 for an intake, exhaust and Brembo brakes? LOL! You have to be kidding.

          1. Thank you! I didn’t see any of it referenced in this article. My fault to the downvoters for not cross referencing the internet after the quick read on the website, I take full accountability and please downvote me into oblivion. @saunupe1911 how was your luck with the dealership outreach?

            1. My contact told me orders start in November which coincides with the article’s prediction. She said would reach out around that timeframe.

    2. I was just going to make a comment about building it yourself or having a custom shop do it. That keeps our hobby/industry rolling.

  7. This a complete joke. Go look at car and driver and compare this to a new Ford Expedition “Stealth”

It goes 0-60 in 4.9 secs. GM claims this RST will go 0-60 in 5.8 secs. What a joke! $8500 for 13 HP/7TQ……I am slowly losing faith in GM. I have been a life long fan, but ever since old “Mary” took over their performance vehicles have totally sucked or not been updated!!!

Heck Ford just released the new Mustang last night and it’s 5.0L will be pushing 500HP..Come on GM!

Give us an SS Tahoe, suburban, Silverado with a blower, and give the Camaro a power bump for the LT1 or find a way to drop in the LT2 from the Vette. This is getting ridiculous!

  8. GM promises performance and upgraded models ie Z06 and ZR2 Silverado and then constrains them. This will probably happen with this Tahoe also. It has been GM’s modus operandi.

  9. Stop buying new rebuild older back better and let them know what America is looking for “trust me they will notice”!! Lots of options when you can fab it yourself!
