The Chevy Trax will no longer be offered with the Premium Seating Package for the remainder of the 2022 model year, GM Authority has learned.
The Premium Seating Package (RPO code YSE) was offered on the 2022 Chevy Trax in the LT trim level only. Priced from $650, the package included the following equipment:
- Leatherette seat trim (RPO ESN)
- Heated driver and front passenger seats (RPO KA1)
By adding leatherette seat trim and heated driver and front passenger seats, the Premium Seating Package added a couple of extra comfort-related features to the Trax LT for a small price premium. Adding the Premium Seating Package to the Trax LT in the configurator tool on Chevrolet.com also automatically adds the $450 LT convenience package to the subcompact crossover, which includes keyless start, keyless open, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a six-way power driver’s seat. The LT comes standard with cloth/leatherette seat upholstery in either Jet Black or Jet Black / Light Ash Gray.
The 2022 Chevy Trax rides on the GM Gamma II platform and is powered by a turbocharged 1.4L LUV inline four-cylinder gas engine. The latter is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available for a price premium. The subcompact crossover is built at the GM Bupyeong Assembly plant in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, South Korea alongside the closely related 2022 Buick Encore. Pricing starts $22,595 in the United States for the entry-level LS trim with front-wheel drive. That figure includes the mandatory $1,195 destination and freight charge.

The base seats in these are brutal. My only complaint given the price point of the vehicle
Are the big three auto manufacturers eliminating the full-size car for better fuel mileage or reacting to the market trends in the suv/cub area? Could they be preparing for the future electric cars?
Isn’t this thing gonna disappear for good soon? I guess buick will refresh the encore gx and just call it encore, and the trailblazer will completely take over for the trax?
