2021 Cadillac Escalade Saw Tight Dealer Inventories Throughout March

General Motors has been trying its hardest to keep up with sustained high demand for its full-size pickup truck and SUV models. It’s also prioritizing its microchip supply for the Arlington Assembly plant in order to maintain an adequate inventory of the wildly popular and profitable vehicles while the semiconductor shortage hampers production output across the industry. Even still, it’s having trouble keeping these vehicles in stock, with the 2021 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV running on extremely tight inventories throughout March.

According to data from Cox Automotive, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade had an average inventory supply of 19 days at GM dealers in March, while the Escalade ESV had a slightly higher average at 24 days’ supply. Cox Automotive says luxury SUVs “had the absolute lowest inventories of any major segment,” in March industry-wide, running an average of 38 days’ supply. Even despite economic setbacks related to the pandemic, it seems as though demand for pricy luxury vehicles like the Escalade and Escalade ESV is staying consistently strong.

With the Escalade flying off dealer lots nationwide, there’s really no need for GM to introduce sales incentives to help drive sales. As we pointed out earlier this month, the sales incentives for the Escalade are non-existent in April. The automaker offered generous discounts on the outgoing 2020 model-year version throughout most of the 2020 calendar year and the first quarter of 2021, including a $9,500 cash back rebate, but it seems customers are more than happy to pay the sticker price for the new T1 platform-based model.

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade introduced multiple changes from the previous-generation model, including a sophisticated independent rear suspension setup, a curved Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) screen, the first AKG automotive audio system and Cadillac’s hands-free Super Cruise driver assistance technology, among more.

Pricing for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade starts at $77,490 including destination, while the Escalade ESV starts at $80,490.
