Last week, we featured a video showing a hungry bear breaking into a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck so it could get its paws on some oatmeal cookies that were stashed inside of it. That video was taken in Jefferson, Colorado, and now, yet another video has emerged from the Centennial State showing a bear breaking into a vehicle.
This clip, which was recently uploaded to YouTube by Viral Hog, shows a small black bear casually approaching a parked Chevrolet Silverado work truck before standing up on its hind legs, tugging on the door handle and opening the driver-side rear door. Our curious, furry friend then begins rummaging through the pickup, knocking a red cooler onto the ground. The bear then uses the cooler to boost himself up into the cabin, where he can finally locate what it is he came for: the owner’s pre-packed lunch.
After securing his stash, the bear strolls off into the woods to enjoy his meal. It’s not clear what the owner had packed for lunch that day, but something tells us this bear isn’t very picky. Whether it was leftover pizza, a ham sandwich or simply a salad and some fruit, we get the feeling this bear ate every last crumb of it. Who knows? He may have gone the extra mile and polished off the lunchbox itself, too.
The moral of this story is the same as it was with the previous one involving a Chevrolet Silverado and a burglarizing bear: you should always keep your vehicle’s doors locked – especially if you live in bear country and have a cooler or lunch box stashed away in your car, truck or SUV.

when the mrs and i were touring the national parks the first question the park rangers asked was do you have any food in the vehicle. we were told there were secure lockers to store your food.
Am I the only one who thinks the “bear broke into my car/truck and stole my lunch” videos are hilarious? I could watch one of these every day. Smart critters. 😉
Worst thing from this, the owner of that truck helplessly could not intervene for the fear of being attacked, though it’s kind of funny at the same time knowing that no one got hurt.
Typical, they’ll probably start taking our jobs too….
