Hennessey’s Chevrolet Silverado Goliath 800 Unleashes V8 Thunder On The Dyno: Video

They say everything is bigger in Texas, and Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance is proving that idiom true with the Chevrolet Silverado Goliath 800. This supercharged pickup lays down a massive 838 ponies at the flywheel, and now, you can hear it roar in the following video.

Clocking in at just one minute, 26 seconds, this video gets right to the point, showing off the pumped-up Chevrolet Silverado as it digs deep with the loud pedal, blasting its exhaust note with a vengeance. Indeed, the sound this thing makes is pretty wild, and definitely helps to prove that this truck is deserving of the Goliath nickname.

Making that internal combustion soundtrack possible is a custom supercharged 6.2L V8 L87 engine, which in stock, atmospheric form produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. According to Hennessey Performance, the upgraded Goliath 800 boosts that to 838 ponies at the flywheel, as calculated assuming a 25 percent driveline loss and 629 horsepower at the wheels. Wheel torque is measured at 599 pound-feet.

Properly applied, we would expect this tuned Chevrolet Silverado to be well into the low-four-second range with regard to 0-to-60 mph time, possibly even knocking on the door of a sub-four-second time.

That’s quick, no matter which way you slice it, especially for a pickup truck with massive 35-inch off-road tires. We also see this Chevrolet Silverado Goliath equipped with a custom front bumper, custom rear bumper, an LED light bar, and some requisite badging to let everyone know what’s lurking under the hood.

Hennessey says this supercharger upgrade is available for all 6.2L V8-powered Chevy and GMC pickups for the 2019 and 2020 model years. Check it out in the video below:
