The 2020 Corvette C8 just made its big Middle East debut at the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show, showing off its latest mid-engine platform and naturally aspirated 6.2L Small Block LT2 V8 powerplant in a new 34-second video clip. Now, we’ve got our hands on a series of fresh photos that show the latest Vette looking hot on some smooth desert tarmac.
The car in question is a 2020 Corvette Coupe finished in Torch Red and equipped with the Z51 Performance Package. That means it’s rocking performance Brembo brakes, performance suspension, a unique front spoiler and rear splitter, and of course, a performance exhaust system.
That latter bit pumps output up to 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The whole shebang will hit 60 mph in less than three seconds. Oh, and the heavy-duty cooling system included with the Z51 Performance Package is most likely appreciated when running the 2020 Corvette on those hot desert roads.
Speaking of which, the photos featured here show the C8 in a number of stunning locations, including winding, hilly roads, and the Dubai skyline in the background. The photo set also includes a number of detail shots that fans of the 2020 Corvette are sure to appreciate.
The 2020 Corvette will be available to Middle East customers roughly halfway through the 2020 calendar year. To note, that’s not long after U.S. customers are slated to receive their cars.
Beyond the Middle East and U.S., the 2020 Corvette is also headed to China following a regional debut at the 2019 China International Import Expo in Shanghai a few weeks back. What’s more, the C8 is slated to arrive in Australia with a right-hand-drive conversion.

I give GM credit for expending the engineering dollars and bringing it to market.
I figure I’m in the minority but while its not an exterior styling fail, there’s aspects of the design that could’ve been done better. In the overall, it’s missing some ‘wow’ factor. It’s neither aggressive nor sensuous but an okay first effort. The body around the rear wheels could stand to be a more contoured instead of so upright and slab sided. The best angle is the rear 3/4 view.
Still I admire that this vehicle even exists especially considering that GM’s overall current and upcoming vehicle lineup is a snooze fest.
Totally agree!
The shots of the red Vette on the main page are professionally photographed and heavily Photoshopped and this car’s windows are tinted to the point of being almost black. So if you don’t like them apples, you’ll probably like the real deal even less.
I agree with you, the exterior design is disappointing. But I’m not sure what it needs. More aggression for starters. Less Cruze and less of a 1990’s vibe for another.
I really hoped that GM would get the exterior design right. I want them to succeed and for American engineering to be recognized, but it’s just not a good looking car. If the Blackwing cancellation is true and there is no Cadillac variant (which could have a much more generous profit margin), a big drop in sales after the first few years could put the C8 platform in the red, even with the pricier Z06 and ZR1 variants. Styling matters: pride of ownership, wanting to look back at a car after stepping out of it. The 2006 Aston Martin V8 wasn’t in any way as good a car as the 997, but they could charge more for it because it was, and is, an elegant, inspired, timeless design. It’s not all about price either, the new MX-5 looks better than the C8.
It’s a decent looking ride but it’s not distinctive enough for a first effort to move the needle forward in exterior design. No ‘Wow’ factor to it. I’m sure it’ll grow on me over time.
When camouflaged prototypes were shown in pics and vids, first thought that came to mind was the windows seems too small in comparison to what appeared to be a rather bulky body. And the engine air intake vents aren’t integrated well into the overall bodywork.
Will it have overheating issues like the C7’s ?
I don,t know what is wrong with you people! I think the styling is absolutely perfect, I love everything about the car and it is the biggest bargain for the buck I have ever seen. I love this car that is why mine is on order sense September 14 2019
