Glorious 4K Cinematic Captures ’80s Excellence That Is The Corvette C4

When the term “4K” appears in the video title, it’s basically a prerequisite for watching, and this is no exception. This video, from YouTube creator Go Harder showcases one of the cleanest examples of a Corvette C4 we have ever seen. Fortunately, the cinematography is just as sharp as the car.

There’s no big narrative, just a heavily stylized video that is clearly inspired by 1980s pop culture, in which the Corvette C4 is considered an icon. The music is perfectly paired to boot, with heavy synth tones, courtesy of new-era Retrowave music which, like the video, looks back to the ’80s for inspiration. It’s a glorious pairing.

We took a deep dive through the owner’s Instagram account and have been able to piece together a pretty complete story on this Corvette C4. It’s a 1987 model with a 5.7L L98 V8 and an automatic transmission. It was imported into Poland in 2017 by the current owner. The goal has clearly always been to have a stylish and standout cruiser. After all, how many Corvette C4 coupes are rolling around in Poland?

From there, a custom set of PK coilovers with very short and very stiff springs give this C4 the right ride height it needs to be camera-ready. The real kickers in this build are the wheels. Those are actually a set of OEM Chrysler wheels from the mid-1990s that would have been found on a LeBaron or Concorde. Originally 16 inches in diameter, they have since been heavily modified into a modular three-piece design that now measures 18 inches in diameter and 11 inches wide.

The overall effect, between the car, the music and the cinematography is just wonderful, and does a great job of capturing the 1980s excellence imbued in the Corvette C4, so be sure to watch it in its entirety, and don’t forget to opt for the 4K resolution!

  1. I looked at a clean C4 yesterday and realized just how much the C7 and now C8 has aged it.

It retained its looks for longer than most cars but now in stock form it is starting to look its age.

    1. Thirty-five years will do that. Still clean and crisp and waayyy ahead of time.

    2. I liked the c4 pre refresh and the squarish taillights but they didn’t get any power until that refresh came.

This one is a little too stanced out with that camber and lo profile tires with white letters? Hard pass.

    3. Hey, man-bro!

I get a lot of down votes for voicing my opinion. Sometimes, I get almost all thumbs ups?

I enjoy your comments, and do not get the number of thumbs down on a lot of your opinions.

Real people, should express their reasons and different points of view without relying on the easy way out of pushing the “thumbs down” icon.

      Well… I guess it’s easier then thinking
for yourself and intelligently enlightening us with their point of view.

All good. I never down vote. I only up vote. If I don’t like something, I let it go if I’m not in the mood, or a have a better viewpoint to present.

      Keep up the good work!

  2. With a few upgraded touches, this C4 is awesome! Even with the dated digital dash and cassette player.

It wouldn’t look good in my garage, because it would be out prowling the tarmac as opposed to sitting around like a lazy j-ass in my garage.!

If I had the dough, I would totally update the GM interior. A real beauty!

    1. The digital dash and cassette player both are part of it’s charm… Especially the digital dash. It represents the era of the car perfectly IMO. If I had one I wouldn’t change a thing. For example, I think the car itself above is beautiful but those wheels just ruin it. I dunno, I just always thought Corvettes looked perfect in stock form. Literally every generation…

      1. The interior does have a certain charm. But I would prefer the interior from a ‘63 over the plastic-fantastic era. IMHO?

        1. Oh, I do understand. The 80’s, even the 90’s by extension certainly won’t be remembered for their glorious interior plastics by any means… From all manufacturers. It was a new thing and a cheap thing and nobody was good at it that’s for sure. Rattles, cracks, squeaks and creaks.. I remember well!

          1. Indeed.

I’m not going to pretend or lie about the fact that I’ve EVER driven a ‘63. Maybe all the “real “ metal had their issues. I just love the design and the use of materials that weren’t from a kid’s toy maker.

  3. ‘91 ZR-1. Need I say anything more?

  4. Beautiful video, but I can’t get past the deeply stupid suspension setup. Every tiny ripple in the pavement rocks the entire car in it’s bump stops. That little play means terrible handling, all sacrificed for looks. Ignorant.

  6. Nice ride, very clean, I’m restoring a 1990 ZR-1 right now, can’t wait to get her on the road, keeping the dream alive. A lot of people rag on the C4, the fact is the C4 was the first complete redesign of the Vette since 1963. It brought the corvette into super car territory, the L98 actually holds some records, and the 1990-1995 ZR1s are still a force to be reckoned with, they may not be perfect but they hold a important spot in corvette history.

      Good for you.
Ignore the little wieners that always down vote with no response.

I guess they still love hiding under mommy’s skirt. Lol?

Take your time. Spring is a great time to start a new relationship.

  7. Great looking ride. I had a stock looking 84, that I loved and actually sold to a great guy in Poland around 5 years ago. Mine had some little motor mods that really woke up the cross-fire, but the exterior was clean original looking.
I have to say that it was a fun ride, with the Z-51 suspension and the manual tranny.

  8. It’s the round tail lights.
A key part of the Corvette style that needs to return.
