2020 Corvette: Here Are The Six Wheel Choices

Chevy’s all-new 2020 Corvette will initially offer six wheel options, comprised of one standard wheel and five available wheels. GM Authority has compiled a comprehensive guide to 2020 Corvette wheels, complete with pictures, availability info, and other details for your browsing and shopping pleasure.

All five 2020 Corvette wheel options are made of aluminum and feature a staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear setup. The fronts are 8.5 inches wide while the rears are 11 inches wide. Each wheel varies in design and finish.

In addition, wheel availability is the same across 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT models, meaning each trim level receives the same standard wheel – the bright silver-painted Q8P. Two of the five sets (5DF and 5DG) are Genuine Corvette Accessories, which means that they are included as a second set of wheels when purchased. All 2020 Corvette wheels available from the factory are shown below.

The table below lists the six sets of 2020 Corvette wheels, along with the corresponding RPO Codes, diameters, widths, finishes, and trim level availability.

2020 Chevrolet Corvette Wheel Availability
RPO Code Material Front Diameter (inches) Rear Diameter (inches) Front Width (inches) Rear Width (inches) Finish Trim Level Availability
Q8P Aluminum 19 20 8.5 11 Bright Silver-painted 1LT, 2LT, 3LT
QEQ Aluminum 19 20 8.5 11 Carbon Flash-painted with machined edge 1LT,2LT,3LT
QES Aluminum 19 20 8.5 11 Machined-face and Sterling Silver-painted 1LT,2LT,3LT
QET Aluminum 19 20 8.5 11 Machined-face and Spectra Gray-painted 1LT,2LT,3LT
5DF Aluminum 19 20 8.5 11 Black-painted 1LT,2LT,3LT
5DG Aluminum 19 20 8.5 11 Performance Pewter 1LT,2LT,3LT

It’s also worth noting that more wheels might be added to the lineup in the near future, either for the 2020 or subsequent model years. For instance, the 5DG wheel was added later on in the 2020 model year.

Either way, there are several attractive 2020 Corvette wheel choices to choose from, straight from the factory. So, let us know in the comments section which set you would choose for the next-generation supercar.

The main reason beeing when cars get delivered they came with cheap black painted rim that are good to be use in winter when you wanted unexpensive 2nd set of wheels. Now I can affort buying the car I feel will give me something to be proud and it doesn’t make any difference to me I always get nicer Chromed mags from aftermarket to make my ride looking apart. I actually choose a combinaison of black and chrome and just love it.

        1. Good for you, Pierre. I would like to think you want chrome wheels because you have great taste, no matter your age. Everyone and their neighbor has black wheels these days. I don’t get it. Black rims next to black rubber looks dirty. It’s not a good look. Hopefully this trend won’t last too many more years. The only exception being when naked carbon fiber rims become the norm. It would be a shame to cover them up with paint. Perhaps we will have different colored rubber tires to contrast with the carbon fiber rims.

  12. The most important information about the wheels has been left out. Are they stationary cast, die cast or centrifugally cast? Which casting Aluminum alloy is being used? Or are they forged? What forging alloy is being used? Cheapest, weakest and lowest cost is stationary casting. Most expensive, strongest, higher cost is forging. For narrow rims like these, I would suspect that stationary casting is being used.

    Reply
  13. Paul P, the process used for these wheels is Flow Forming. A narrow wheel is made and then they are formed to a wider bed by pull force while keeping the low mass of the original cast.

Bob, there are non existent Ferrari or Lamborghini or Aston Martins with Chrome Wheels. Neither Audi R8 or BMW M or MB AMG’s use chrome. Come on. Chrome is going away even in front ends, unless you are a Kenworth semi driver.
Chrome, besides being one of the worst pollutants in the world looks like a Galaxy 500 option.
The wheels are made in Mexico, most of them.

  15. Nice enough selection, like the less busy ones better, the others remind me of the honeycomb ones on the old Firebirds and Camaros. But for 60 large, don’t complain, this is a tremendous amount of car for the price that a competitor can’t get out for double the price for the performance. Can’t wait until an all-wheel-drive one for here in Colorado, it’s in the plans as is a Twin Turbo V6, Supercharger, and various other editions paying homage to Zora. Chevy finally did it, almost got it 10 years ago, but wouldn’t be a good idea coming out with it with bankruptcy.

I just came back from Corvettes at Carlisle and seen at least 10 C8’s , the wheel designs are the worst I have seen for corvette. I visited the parking lots full of every year corvette and bright wheels are the choice, polished , machined, or chrome please and needed for the C8. After 6 months of looking at the camo car, I was thinking … my god the wheels are so damn ugly and just maybe theses are Camo wheels and not production wheels that we will be seeing.

  21. Well, here’s my two cents worth, I’m retired, 65, grey hair and pretty sure us ‘old guys’ have more cash to buy a new C8 than Tadge’s wanna be youth buyers. I’m not sure how many kids with a wife and two screaming kids are going to be in this market. Black wheels are for government vehicles, cop cars and the like. When Chevrolet comes out with a decent chrome wheel i’ll be at the dealer making my deal unless I can buy the car and have my own wheels put on at the factory. The End.

    1. Gary F,
Do you know why the Mustang is such a sales success? They have an export version with right hand drive so 40% of the production volume is exported compared to next to nothing for the Camaro.

The C8 is built for export. Most of the wealth around the world is now created outside the US and mostly in Asia. So if young Muricans can’t afford one, hundreds of thousands outside the US can. The average age of a Rolls Royce buyer in China is 42.

No offence but 65+ in the US are a dying breed. The business case for the C8 wasn’t made based on the old geysers love for chrome, suede interiors, pinstripes or vinyl roofs.

I know there is a debate about whether or not chrome should be used on a sports car but if we all saw some photos or a video it would be easier for us to make up our minds. I would love to see it. Even if I had the money to get a C8 I would have no clue as to which color I like best (black, graphite, silver, or white) so I am curious about a white/chrome combination.

O.K., I just googled, “White Ferrari with Chrome Wheels”, and I found this. It’s a Ferrari 360 Spider from 2003. The car still looks great but perhaps white with chrome wheels does look dated. What do you think?

    2. Generally, factory polished wheels are clear-coated. If they aren’t, or, if they are polished aftermarket, should they begin to oxidize, you re-polish them (BEFORE pitted). Oxidation is of typically an environmental based event (unless someone is introducing an agent to the material). I live at the beach, commonly a harsh environment for raw aluminum, and I have owned polished aluminum wheels up to 8 years with no observable oxidation.

The Q8P silver painted wheel was just too bright, which made me wonder how chrome wheels will really look. Let’s face it – they are either coming from the factory or the after market.
I’m a geezer, so the black options just don’t appeal to me at all.
I had polished aluminum wheels on my C6, and have chrome on my C7. Living near the coast I find chrome can be hard to keep up with due to the salt air.
