Production of the Chevrolet Spark EV has been long over, General Motors confirmed to The Detroit News. Instead, as everyone assumed, the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV will be the focus moving forward.
The Spark EV arrived as a 2014 model and ran through this past summer as a 2016 model and provided 82 miles of electric range. In comparison, the 2017 Bolt EV musters 238 miles of electric range from its battery pack.
Over its three model years, the Spark EV sold 7,400 copies across California, Oregon and Maryland. On the contrary, Chevrolet said it’s expecting to sell 1,200 Bolt EVs during the month of January alone. 600 2017 Bolt EV sales were tallied during its launch month of December in the state of California.
The focus will continue to revolve around Bolt EV as the main electric vehicle in Chevrolet’s lineup, and the Volt and Malibu Hybrid will also receive extra attention with the Spark EV officially out of the picture.

This should be a surprise to no one.
The price diference is not that significant when you consider the things that the Bolt does better such as; EV range, driving dynamics, interior space, interior ergonomics, driving comfort and I’ll mention again range. The Bolt goes almost 3x is far on a single charge.
Although the Chevy Spark EV was a in-house conversion done by GM Korea, I know that the manufacturing , driving, and servicing experiences helped with the engineering and manufacturing for the Bolt EV later. Now it will be a new classic as the second GM produced BEV, after the short-lived GM EV1 (Impact) of the 1990s.
