The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Argentina sales experienced another decline during October, further deepening the brand’s negative performance in the South American country. Chevrolet sales continue to show no improvement in the Argentine market, now accumulating 12 consecutive months in the red. The Bow Tie’s performance has yet to benefit from the improvements experienced by the local automotive market.

Chevy Tracker RS

In October, the drop in Chevrolet Argentina sales continued to be driven by significant drops in the Chevy Tracker as well as the discontinued Chevy Cruze. Between both models, Chevrolet lost roughly 900 units in total volume during the month, tipping the overall balance to the negative side. Even so, the Tracker remains the brand’s best-selling model and one of the most popular crossovers in its segment in Argentina.

Chevy Onix

By contrast, the vast majority of imported models were in the green with considerable double- and triple-digit gains in October. The most notable was the Chevy Onix, which recorded the most significant increase by adding 442 units on a year-on-year basis, once again becoming Chevy’s second-best-selling model in the local market. In addition, the Chevy TrailBlazer SUV had the highest growth rate among all Chevrolet models, while the Chevy Equinox and Montana finished the month and the first ten months of the year in the green.
