Suspect Steals A Chevrolet Volt, Leads LA Police On Wild Chase

We’re not criminals here, but if we were to choose a getaway car, it probably wouldn’t be a Chevrolet Volt. But, that’s what one suspect did in Los Angeles.

Local news affiliate ABC 7 reports a man stole a first-generation Chevrolet Volt and led police on a wild chase. At one point, police actually let the pursuit off in order to make the suspect feel more comfortable and not put anyone in greater danger.

However, police finally blocked him in on a cul-de-sac, after he attempted to ram a police cruiser with the Volt. Police used non-lethal force to remove him from the vehicle after the man was apparently suicidal. No one was injured in the pursuit or following collision.

  1. I’m impressed the volt won the battle against the ford cop suv. The volt didn’t look damaged much at all, but pushed the front of the ford in enough to burst the rad.

  4. Not the car to use if you are suicidal. The first gen Volt hasn’t had a single fatality.
