If you’re a classic vehicle collector, you may want to sit back and take a moment regarding this one. Hemmings reports a 1939 GM Futurliner has surfaced for sale.
The Futurliner has become an iconic project by GM, previewing the future of transportation at the turn of the 1930s. It’s also one of many projects undertaken by the late, great Harley Earl, featuring art deco body work. Only 12 are known to have been manufactured by GM and only nine exist today.
This particular one resides in Newberg, Oregon and was fully restored in 2013. Like the original, the restored version displays a Allison J-35 jet engine. If you’re interested in learning more about the Futurliner, be sure to have a look at the listing here.
