During the AutoPacific 2016 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, the 2016 Cadillac Escalade was named the Most Satisfying Luxury SUV, earning the President’s Award. The Escalade received a score of 810, which is the highest Vehicle Satisfaction Award score ever. Aside from this award, the Escalade has received a slew of others, including the Reader’s Choice Award, Best Luxury SUV by AutoGuide.com and Best Luxury Large SUV for Families by U.S. News & World Report. You could say that people like the all-American luxury SUV.
Moreover, Cadillac was rated as the second most satisfying luxury brand in the California-based firm’s research. AutoPacific conducts this research annually, and measures the satisfaction of more than 65,000 owners of new 2015 and 2016 cars and light trucks.
“The new Escalade continues to set new standards for sophistication in its market segment, and having its product substance recognized by customers is the highest form of praise,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen. “There are no more valuable opinions than those of our owners who drive Cadillacs every day.”

Any time you win an award is a good thing whether it’s for reliability or interior design ( XT5 ) .
But there are so many surveys out there that will tell you that Cadillac is near the bottom for customer satisfaction .
I guess it all depends on the company doing the survey and who will believe what any of them mean .
The Escalade is by far the best vehicle in Cadillacs portfolio . If they can do the same thing to a car that would be an image maker for the division .
The Escalade is very important and easily the most desireable Cadillac being sold right now but not the best.
At the end of the day the ‘Slade is just a very dolled up Chevrolet Tahoe and that is not what Cadillac as a brand aspires to be.
Jamdown you made a very interesting point. Is it more important to be the most desirable rather than the best? After all, what determines the overall best? The overall best may not have certain strong points that are valued most by the buying public
I am really not knocking the Escalade.
Admittedly I have not been in the new one yet but I liked the old one and like the new one even better asthetically.
People have posted on this forum and I have read articles that note that although the interior is very well done and does convey luxury you can not get past the obvious signs of this trucks pedestrian roots. Most notably the switchgear.
I disagree with you, Jamdown, and GM PDT,
The Escalade is a true SUV while the XT5 is a crossover. The Escalade is way more than a dolled-up Tahoe or Denali. And the truth of the matter is, people tend to think that the Escalade was based on the Tahoe but in actuality, the Escalade was produced and engineered first because you can see the strong shoulder line on the side and some styling elements that is typically Cadillac on the lower rear of the tail-gait.
Rather the Escalade is the best in Cadillac’s line-up is subjective but there are some features the other Cadillacs have that the Escalade does not have on them, like auto park assist as an example.
So, I would say that the CT6 is the best Cadillac for as a prestige car in the line-up is concerned while the Escalade is the best and the standard for the industry.
Actually the Tahoe has been around since 1992 and the Escalade 1999.
I agree that what is the ‘best’ Cadillac is subjective bu no getting around that the Escalade is based on GM’s full sized SUV line up where as the sedan line up are Cadillac exclusive chassis.
Also CT6 is what Cadillac wants as an aspirational vehicle but in fact the Escalade is still the most prestigious and appealing model they currently have.
The CT6 is the most Cadillac exclusive model though.
Where did that come from? I thought Cadillac consistently ranked low in customer satisfaction surveys.
Only in consumer reports.
All I was trying to convey by saying the Escalade is the best vehicle Cadillac has is just what you wrote , it being the most desireable vehicle Cadillac produces . Right now the same cannot be said of the CT6 .
If you can by a Genesis or K-900 let alone any German luxury car they all have V-8’s . People that are going to buy the CT6 don’t care about MPG , . So instead of feeling inferior to your golf buddies pulling up in your twin turbo V6 shiny new CT6 , parking in the same row with the Escalade you are driving Cadillacs best , no shame at all . JMHO
