Former Ferrari Chairman Offers Up Praise For The Opel Brand

It’s not every day a former Ferrari executive, let alone the former chairman, lends a compliment. If and when that happens, it’s best to listen up.

Former Ferrari chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo praised the Opel brand during the Rising Stars conference, ahead of the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, where he commended the brand for occupying a unique spot in the market. Not only that, but he’s a big fan of Opel pushing itself to advance its space, according to Fiat-Chrysler Authority.

“I am impressed with Opel. They have a clear position and good products,” he said. “They are German but also European.”

He mentioned some of Opel’s unique product offerings as examples of how Opel pushes itself, pointing to the Opel Adam’s customization factor, and the Adam Rocks variant. di Montezemolo called for other automakers to pursue a similar path saying there has never been a better time to “open the window and let in some fresh air.”

  1. He is right. Opel-Vauxhall-Buick must grow globally, and the collection of regional brands should become GMs third global “brand”.
