Watch: Rich Kid Gives 2014 Corvette Stingray To A Random Stranger

Here’s a video that’s sure to divide opinion.

Here we have what appears to be an over-privileged, Justin Bieber-looking boy with a 2014 Corvette Stingray. But unlike those thousands of bro-burnout videos on the internet, this one is different. The kid gives the C7 to a complete stranger– and tells him to keep it. Welcome to the bizarre world of the Rich Kids TV YouTube channel.

The whole incident, from riding up on the stranger to swapping the title, plays out in in less than four-minutes: Bieber-esque kid rolls up, gets out, asks the stranger if he likes the car, and finally asks if he’d like to keep it.

Like most of us, the stranger is in disbelief and quite reasonably asks what the catch is. It appears there isn’t one. Well, other than being accosted by our unassuming hero(?) in the video, that is.

While we sincerely question the authenticity of the video, there’s really no way to determine if the whole incident was staged or not. Not unless our well-heeled protagonist or the lucky stranger fesses up, that is. Which they haven’t.

The whole event smudges the line between generosity and ego. Somehow, despite the apparent kindheartedness, it leaves a bad taste in our mouths.

Hang on ‘till the bitter end and you’ll see exactly what we mean.

A far-too-tall Ontarian who likes to focus on the business end of the auto industry, in part because he's too tall to safely swap cogs in a Corvette Stingray.
