Let’s got one thing straight before we dive into this devilish dragster: This Pro Mod C7 is a Corvette Stingray in name only. However, it looks a bit like a Corvette C7 so we’ll stick with the name all the same. Now, on to the fun stuff.
Recently built by Pappas/Marinis Motrsports, this cartoonishly over-the-top Corvette gets its power from a massive BES-sourced 5.2-inch bore space 820 ci (13.4-liter) engine with a pair of Braswell/Book carbs.
It’s also addicted to juice (nitrous) and it gets its shots courtesy of a Speedtech four-stage system that’s hooked up to a comically large bottle of the stuff located in the passenger cell.
We aren’t privy to horsepower figures, but we can deduce a fair amount from the Pro Mod regulations themselves: Outputs can vary from 2,500 hp to about 4,000 hp. In other words, the sky is the limit in the Pro Mod category.
The Pro Mod C7 will take part in both eight and quarter-mile races and is about to undergo final shakedown testing. Take a look at the madness in all its glory below.
