Cadillac isn’t being coy about the newest generation V-Series, and both the 2016Â ATS-V and 2016Â CTS-V will be on display for the European public to have a gander at during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
The Caddys don’t have home-field advantage here, but nevertheless, Europe should be ready for the V-Series’ invasion. The ATS-V is slated for a Summer 2015 introduction, while the CTS-V will arrive in early 2016. Challenging the Germans will be the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 in the ATS-V and supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8, making an estimated 455 hp and 649 hp respectively. Both super-saloons (and coupe in the ATS-V’s case) arrive with GM’s fabulous Magnetic Ride Control and multi-piston Brembo brakes for stopping duties.
Cadillac also invites fans to Geneva for a chance to meet DJ Antoine, jury member of the hugely popular “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” TV casting show. An ardent auto enthusiast, DJ Antoine has a long standing preference for Cadillacs, and will act as an ambassador for the brand during the show. Fans may also come to the Cadillac stand for a meet and greet.
The Geneva showing is the latest play in putting Germany on notice with what Cadillac is capable of doing, and to show it’s ready to stake its claim once again as “Standard of the World.” Stay tuned as we bring you the latest pieces of information from Geneva.

Why bother.
Cadillac is completely irrelevant in Europe, and these over-priced gas guzzlers are not going to change this.
Cadillac has no idea how to build emission and mpg friendly engines, so a Cadillac will never become evenly priced with the Germans.
The Germans are king in Europe, and 1 or 2 ats-v sales per year are not going to change this.
Funny, I find the poorly engineered, ridiculously unreliable M and AMG cars to be irrelevant. I wouldn’t ever consider one outside of warranty.
Exactly, M and AMGs have the highest depreciation of any vehicle on the market and BMW won’t even offer an extended warranty on M vehicles.
If the V-series Cadillacs are overpriced gas-guzzlers then what do you call BMW’s M-series? They are even more overpriced and more gas-guzzling than the Cadillacs.
I hope they mention the developed diesel engines, it’s pretty difficult to get into Europe without those…
I agree that the sales of these two will be small but Cadillac needs to maintain it’s presence in Europe until their real product and marketing push begins after 2020 as they have stated .
I don’t agree that Cadillac/GM can’t build small and efficient engines, just look at the new 3 and 4 cylinder engines from 1.0 to 1.6 litre displacement coming on board soon starting with the Karl, Corsa and new Cruze plus a litany of other models. In each application the engine has significantly better power, efficiency and a reduced carbon footprint than the engine it replaces.
There has just not been a need for those engines from Cadillac previously. Also further to your point Cadillac has not had the market share in Europe to justify making the investment for such engines with such a miniscule market share.
New Cruze? O.o
Couldn’t Cadillac and GM find a better place to invest capital than Europe. Even with a full profuct range after 2020, BMW, Audi and Mercedes have too great a home field advantage outside maybe the UK.
It seems as if Cadillac.could earn more and expand faster in the Bric economies while making greater pushes in the Middle East.
Silly waste of money!
If Cadillac intention is to truly be considered ‘Standard of the World ‘ then they need to compete effectively in one of the top luxury markets in the world .
Even though the European big 3 luxury makers have the home field advantage Cadillac can’t shy away from the competition.
Cadillac has a long way to go on public awareness and dealer network in Europe but they can and do make a very competitive and sometimes superior product to those ‘Big 3 ‘ luxury makers.
I think there is some truth in that, although I wouldn’t write-off all of Europe entirely. Cadillac’s small presence at Geneva is better than none at all, even if Cadillac’s annual sales in Europe this year remain low as usual.
Cadillac’s place in Europe is a long-term goal, but that doesn’t mean Cadillac should ignore the demand for luxury goods in other markets. The Middle-east and BRICS should be considered, because at this point for Cadillac, any foothold outside North America should be cherished, protected, and strengthened. Taking Cadillac to the global stage doesn’t just mean Europe and North America.
Let get some things straight. In Europe odds are Cadillac will never be #1 or even #2 in these markets. Lets face it we are the outsiders.
Now can Cadillac make a decent dent in Europe yes but it will take time and good product.
What gets lost here is the fact is Cadillac does not need to be number one all they need is a decent volume and presents in Europe to show they can compete. They also just need to make money and in this segment you do not need to sell 50K units a year there to make a good profit.
Cadillac needs a presents globally and it must be lost on the commenter above but Cadillac already has a good presents in the middle east.
The main focus here is to grow Cadillac globally and get some key models to perform well in these markets. This will make things play better here in the home market as if some see the countries they so treasure accept the car from their own markets will hopefully make them pay attention to the new product and even change their perceptions of these cars.
The only market we need to worry about being number one in is America at some point but even then Cadillac is still not going to be a Volume player. This is no longer a car for everyone.
The bottom line is this car needs to sell enough cars to make a profit, few enough cars to make it more exclusive and earn an image that makes it desirable that more people want it than can have it. It is a fine balance but it can be achieve at some point just there is more work to do.
This formula is nothing new to Cadillac as it is going back to it’s root like it used to do back in the 30’s. You had to be of means back then to own a Cadillac and that is what they want to do again. They will need to make a car worthy of this kind of lust and they are well on their way.
But as for Europe we just need to be desired and sell enough cars to make it worth while and then grow It from there. But never think you are going to displace the home companies any time soon. People are a little more brand loyal there but I know from my customers there are enough American car lovers over there to make stake in the market.
Anyone that can look at that car and think it doesn’t stack up to the Germans is a COMMY (a.k.a COMMUNIST ) !
Just my $0.02 . =)
For luxury cars and luxury buyers, it’s not so ‘cut and dry’ as that, comrade. â˜
i may be splitting hairs here but is the power on the ctsv 640 or 649? I have been reading 640 for a while, now all of a sudden 649 is being thrown around, so which one is it?
It is 640HP according to Cadillac . com
