Paris. It’s the fashion capital of Europe, and the former seat of all things stylish for the world (thank you, NYC). Paris has been a friend to the automotive establishment since the beginning, which is why General Motors President Dan Ammann and Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen are surveying the scene at the Mondial l’Automobile 2014 Paris (aka 2014 Paris Motor Show).
Of course, De Nysschen joined Cadillac as its new president in August after stints at Audi and Infiniti. He is responsible for Cadillac’s overall global operational performance, leading sales, pricing and network development, strategic brand development, marketing and product portfolio planning, including input for product engineering, and design − yep, he has a big and important job.
Cadillac has already conquered the Nürburgring, but the European market is a completely different nut to crack. It’s likely we will see the team making headway at the Frankfurt and Geneva auto shows as well.
