This Is The 2015 Cadillac CTS Sedan

Cadillac has been riding on the praises of the 2014 CTS sedan grabbing Motor Trend’s Car of The Year award. Even though the CTS was brand new for 2014, Cadillac is giving the 2015 CTS sedan some minor updates.

Straight from Vera Sweeney’s (blogger for LadyAndTheBlog.com) twitter feed, are pictures of the newly revised 2015 CTS sedan. The sole visible change on the exterior is Cadillac’s new wreathless crest, which debuted on the 2015 ATS Coupe. The rest of the changes take place within the vehicle.

The main focus of the update involved Cadillac adding its latest OnStar system with 4G LTE connectivity and Wi-Fi hotspot as standard. With the 4G LTE connectivity, features such as remote door locking/unlocking, vehicle diagnostic reports and maintenance notifications are included. The CTS’s self-parking technology has been given the ability to pull into perpendicular spaces, allowing the CTS to potentially turn 90 degrees. Cadillac DockSpot – a wireless phone-charging pad – is a new option along with Crystal White and Dark Adriatic Blue paint schemes.

Safety was another key point for the 2015 CTS, lane-keeping assist and lane-change alert are optional extras for the Driver Awareness package. Cadillac has created a Teen Driver feature that allows parents to limit vehicle speed and audio volume, as well as a downloadable “report card” function. The report provides information on anti-lock braking engagement, top speed, open throttle events, mileage and more to the parents.

Besides the aforementioned changes, the 2015 CTS sedan remains the same as its stellar 2014 counterpart.

  1. I miss the vertical bars already. On the ATS coupe I didn’t miss them, but the CTS is larger and wider.

Anyone else get a Chrysler 300 vibe the first time they saw this? They have seven arcing (thinner) horizontal lines on their grille… but yeah, 300 first popped in my head.

Could be worse, could be the difference between a VE2 GTS and a VF. Yikes.

  2. I like it. Cleaner and less cluttered.

    Less is more.

  3. The old grill looked nice, this grill just seems to complement the car a lot better. I like it a lot, even the wreath less logo looks nice and clean. Now where is the coupe and the V-series versions of both of them?

    1. hafeez, I have the 2014 CTS 4 and recently I took it in for recall service and was given a 2015 loaner without the wreath. You are 100% correct!! It’s a whole different look to the front of the car….NOT IN A GOOD WAY. The front of this design was built around the emblem with the wreath, and it lacks greatly without it! I’ve owned Cadillacs for 14 years and Unless Cadillac either finds a way to make this new elongated emblem fit a grill that compliment the CTS again or bring back the wreath by the time I’m ready to buy a new one, I could be looking at another American luxury model. I truly hope Cadillac is listening. Most of us who “own” and have “owned” your product are sending you a message….RE-THINK THIS EMBLEM, IT LOOKS INCOMPLETE AND TAKES AWAY FROM THE ESCHETICS OF THE CTS FRONT FACIA. BETTER YET, BRING BACK THE DAMN WREATH!

  4. To be honest, I always felt the wreath was rather gaudy. It certainly wasn’t as colorful as the shield, and I won’t miss it.

    1. The wreath to me represented old ladies in sedans with fake convertible roofs.

  5. Although I think it looks OK. I just wonder why it has to be so high up and not centered? IMO I think it would be better that way. BTW I like it without the wreath around it on these newer edgier “art and science” designs vs. the old school stuff.

  6. Logo should be centered then I might say I didnt prefer old logo… grille looks fine to me doesnt matter, all Cadillacs I get I put an aftermarket e&g on it anyways

  7. “Wreathless”? The wreath wasn’t featured on Cadillacs until the late sixties and showed up then on the new front wheel drive Eldorado. Before then it was a “Vee” emblem or just the crest alone. Some (including me) feel that the no-wreath years were Cadillac’s best so dropping it makes sense from that perspective.

  8. Do I dare say… I already miss the wreath as part of the logo.. But bottom line …. its a Cadillac. Enough said..
p.s. I also miss a the well built, solid and safe Saab. Odd how they tossed Saab aside… no recalls there.

  9. No one can hit their knee on the Saab Ignition on the console. Hell most people can’t even find it.

Or the window switches on the headliner. LOL!
