Cadillac Adds Redesigned Rear Seat Remote Control For 2013 SRX

The Cadillac SRX will receive several tweaks for the 2013 model year, with the most significant addition being the CUE infotainment system that allows each of the 8″ flip-up rear screens to play media individually. With it will come a Blu-Ray DVD player that will extend connectivity to the rear seats courtesy of a new, redesigned “kid-tested” remote control that we can’t help but compare it to a Super Nintendo controller.

Along with CUE, users can pair of up to 10(!) Bluetooth-enabled devices at once, in addition to using SD cards, USB sticks/thumb drives, MP3 players, and the like. And with the remote control, rear-seat passengers can connect to and manage their own music players and playlists.

When the vehicle is in park, front-seat passengers will be able to watch videos on the 8″ screen on the center-stack while audio comes through the speakers of the SRX. Sounds like good fun to us.

    1. GM reps emailed me this afternoon stating that this new remote will be the standard for all models going forward. But only the Cadillac will have the black/silver finish.
