Rumor has it that the Cadillac XTS will be sold in Europe. It just won’t be a Cadillac. In fact, recent intel from across the pond speculates that the big Caddy will find some form of itself in the Opel lineup as its own “flagship” vehicle, slotting above the Insignia. And it may be called — get this — the Opel Omega. Not to be confused with the upcoming Cadillac sedan that will underpin the new Omega platform.
According to Auto-News.de, the rebadged Caddy is speculated to keep its 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 304 hp (227 kW ) and 358 Nm (264 lb-ft) of torque, with the possibility of utilizing a turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 with 321 hp (239 kW). A small twin-turbo 2.0-liter diesel with 192 hp and 292 lb-ft (400 Nm) was also brought up in the article. Might as well throw in a gasoline turbocharged 2.0L engine while they’re at it.

Wouldn’t this just be the Opel version of the Buick Lacrosse that has long been speculated at?
If you think this is going to be range topping with a smaller diesel than the Vectra then you need to do some research onto European product lines.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to call an Opel CTS the Omega? The Opel Omega turned into the Cadillac Catera in America, and the Cadillac Catera turned into the CTS.
Picture it if you will… haha 🙂
All joking aside, I can see them doing this in China. Where GM sells the long wheelbase version of the STS.
Will it be just badge engineering or platform sharing? I gues Opel is developing its own car based on the Super Epsilon platform which also underpins the XTS.
i dont like the idea that were sharing our cars… mine as well with ford :O
JK but you get the point
I think they should of use the body from the LaCrosse instead of XTS since LaCrosse is more round shape and XTS has some edgy cues….
Certainly not. GM has declared Cadillac to be a global brand, and there will certainly be no more badge engineering mating Opels to Chevrolet (the other global brand) or Cadillac. Opel is mated to Buick for the North American and Chinese markets.
