  9. Smoked headlamps, front turn signals, rear turn signals, front lamps, rear lamps, side marker lamps, and are illegal. As well as unsafe!

Will GM foot the lawsuit in an accident?

    1. That’s interesting — thanks for pointing that out Fivezeo. Not sure if this will be GM’s “bill to foot.” It’s an aftermarket addition to the truck — made at the discretion of the owner. Let’s see if the folks at MCM have any info about this…

  10. what brand wheels are on this truck

  11. In response to the 3/25 Fivezero comment: You are partially correct. These covers are illegal a night, which is why they are easily removable. We do not encourage drivers of our custom vehicles to break the law, which is why a notice is sent with each vehicle indicating that these lamp covers are not approved to be used at night. Additionally, MCM Vehicles full warranties any modifications that are made to a GM chassis. Thanks for your comment.

As for the demand for this truck, our dealers are experiencing a 7-10 day retail turnover, which we are extremely proud of.

  12. Headlights, turn lamps, marker lamps, and reflectors can not be covered and “less safe” from the manufactor. At night or day while on the public roadways. The decrease in light output is less safe and not as it was designed. It’s why the covers are “off road use only” from the maker. It’s why no other manufactor sells blacked out covers.

40-8-22 “shall be in proper working condition and shall not be covered by Any material”

40-8-23 “all lenses shall be maintained in good repair and meet manufactors specs”

40-8-26 “shall be plainly (not covered) visible ….. During daytime and nighttime. “shall be maintained in good repair ad shall meet manufactor specs”

Manufactor would be GM for this truck. Does GM sell any vehicle with black coverings?

Thats just a few codes from One state. Most follow the same terms or refer to federal code title 49.

  18. This truck is truly badass!!!! There is a guy in my town who has one all decked out and has been pulled over for speeding on several occasions and the cops have said nothing to him about his lights being blacked out or the window tint being dark or anything for that matter. I have personally been able to take it off road and i can tell you it will get up and go.

  21. I just bought a 2012 model of the black widow. Absolutely a head turner, and receive so many compliments. Smoothest ride I could imagine, and well worth the money. And mine did not come with blacked out headlights or anything, so it must be just that model. And they are 20″ mickey thompson tires with rockstar wheels with black widow cover i believe

  22. I just bought one of these trucks new from Williams Chevrolet in Maryland. As the previous person stated this truck really is awesome. Drives and handles very well even with all that lift. Mine didn’t have the light covers either. The exhaust sounds great and I have received numerous compliments and questions about it over the last few weeks. If you see one at a dealership you should test drive it for yourself. I must warn you though…doing that will make you the owner of that truck!

  27. I just bought the 2015 BWE in Colorado Springs …love the hell out of it. I like sport trucks like the rally 2 edition but I had to have the BWE. Everyone that looks at it has nothing but good things to say about it. The exhaust is nice the exterior trim is mean and the interior dash trim is nice. Is Southern Comfort Customs is going to make a bad ass looking truck, might as well make it perform better with a catback exhaust and a CAI…it’s a 67,000 dollar truck just go ahead and make it 68,000. Lol
