Make Room On The Shelf: Chevrolet Volt Wins Automobile Magazine’s Automobile Of The Year Award

Literally moments ago we just learned of the Chevrolet Volt taking home Motor Trend’s North American Car of the Year trophy. But Motor Trend isn’t the only publication out there, and it clearly isn’t the only publication that respects and is taken aback by the capabilities of what could be the future of automobiles as we know them. This is made evident by Automobile Magazine’s choice of giving the award to the plug-in revolutionary – it’s second major award of the day.

It’s not like the Volt didn’t have any challengers. AM also considered a distinguished list of contenders that included GM’s own Cadillac CTS-V Coupe and Chevrolet Cruze, as well as the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ford Fiesta and the Hyundai Sonata.

All of them great cars, but none of them break the kind of ground we see from the Chevy Volt.
