Chevrolet revealed the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Trailboss form this past December, but now, we know exactly when we’ll see two new Silverado models: the Silverado 4500HD and Silverado 5500HD.
Chevy announced on Monday that both the Class 4 and Class 5 trucks in chassis cab form will make their debut at the 2018 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, Indiana, on March 6. The brand was light on details, but we know both trucks were developed alongside Navistar and they will feature Duramax diesel engines—likely the 6.6-liter L5P V8 engine—and Allison transmissions.
From the sole teaser image provided, we can certainly see the 2019 Silverado influence in design. The front end looks sharp rigid, and we can also see some massive tires.
Chevrolet first announced plans to produce the flagship medium-duty trucks in 2015, stating that the partnership would combine Navistar’s “expertise in rolling chassis configurations and manufacturing capabilities” with GM commercial components and engines.
A few weeks ago, GM Authority brought you exclusive spy shots of the upcoming Chevy Medium Duty Trucks and the teaser image seen here appears to of the same vehicle, albeit with a front end specific to Chevrolet.

Revealed? Thought it was a sneak peak of the trail boss. Reveal suppose to be at NAIAS
It’s a technicality.
Yes, the 2019 Silverado 1500 was technically revealed at the Chevy Trucks Centennial Celebration in Texas in TrailBoss form. It will be completely revealed at NAIAS. Both are reveals, if we’re speaking on technicality.
But if we’re going to do that, then we should note that the NAIAS reveal won’t actually be at the show itself, but rather at an invite-only event on January 13th that won’t even take place at COBO (the NAIAS venue). That’s a day before the show opens to the press and three days before it opens to the public.

Really, choppering in a fully functional next gen truck that was driven onto stage is not revealing?
Would you feel the same if it were a 3500 Duramax that was revealed?
Just saying.
