Last week, driver Chris Jacobs carved corners with the SPEC Camaro at the SCCA Peru CAM Challenge, putting the full-chassis and other aftermarket components to the test.
This video shows GoPro footage of one of Jacobs’ runs in the first-gen Camaro, which was built by Roadster Shop. We already knew this car was built to be a formidable track fighter, with impactful upgrades like the aforementioned SPEC chassis and an IFS front-suspension setup, which utilizes beefy control arms and a new, proprietary suspension geometry. This video only confirms our suspicions that the car is not only potent, but a capable corner carver, as well.
For those who have any reservations about muscle car autocrossing, the Roadster Shop SPEC Camaro offers proof positive that it can be done – and quite well, at that. One just needs the right components to make it work. Check out the video above.
