2017 Chevrolet Silverado Redline Edition Revealed

Chevrolet took to the windy city to grace the 2017 Silverado with yet another special edition pickup. Meet the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado Redline edtion.

The 2017 Silverado Redline edition is the latest special edition to segment the pickup truck market, as part of Chevrolet’s continued special edition strategy. As for what the Redline edition warrants, it spruces up the full-size truck with black and red accents throughout the exterior.

Specifically, the Redline warrants black wheels, featuring distinct red hash marks, black nameplates with a red outline, blacked-out grilles and black Chevrolet bowtie logos. The Silverado specifically receives red tow hooks as another splash of color for the pickup.

“Redline is another example of Chevrolet bringing SEMA concepts to showrooms,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet. “The SEMA show has proven to be a great way to identify customization trends in the industry, and quickly apply those trends to our most popular Chevrolet models. Based on the strong interest Redline attracted at the show, we believe they will be very popular with customers looking for standout cars, trucks, and crossovers.”

“Our special edition lineup has been popular with customers and dealers, alike” said Sweeney. “Since the introduction of special editions on vehicles the like Silverado and Camaro, vehicle average transaction prices have increased, time to turn has decreased, and conquest rates have risen, which has contributed to making Chevrolet the fastest-growing brand in the industry two years in a row.”

The 2017 Chevrolet Silverado will be the first Redline edition to become available to consumers; orders for the Silverado Redline edition may be placed now.

  1. What a joke! G.M. can only put lipstick on a pig and not “backup” these special editions with ANY performance upgrades? They have NO answers (or plans) to answer Fords Raptor pick up or the Dodge Durango SRT, etc. I have owned a Grand National Buick, SS 454 Chev. p/u & 2008 SS trailblazer in the past. I am/ have been in the market for a mid-size PERFORMANCE G.M. badged suv for the last 6 years!! They can barely sell the brand new Camaro ! ( currently own 1969 Z/28 rally sport fiber optic car). Looks like the bean counter’s have taken over again at G.M’s performance division. Red line edition ? Red calipers and red stitching……wow.
    Wake up G.M.

    1. the kicker is that these special editions dont come with a 50% markup in price. They are stylistic only. pricing will be about the same, so anyone on the edge will decide to pick the “cooler” chevy. not bad as far as marketing goes

  2. Wake up G.M. indeed! Bells and whistles and now red lipstick are NOT what I am looking for in a vehicle. I am in the market for a new Suburban / Tahoe and G.M. thinks it’s OK to equip it with a single archaic drivetrain. Offer vehicles that offer long term performance, durability, and dependability over bling.

  3. Bob, I’m right there with you dude! I’ve been waiting for 2 years for GM to put the L86 in the Suburban. But no….we get a Premier badge and the same inadequate drive train! Oh, and if we’re real lucky we might get RED accents too! Unreal….

  4. $2800 package, gets you? A black grille, some special badges and some and running boards? Doesn’t sound much like a value to me.

  5. Does ANYBODY at GM read these posts? I find it hard to believe that they do with what they offer the public to buy!
