Dealers Report Parts Arriving Within One Week For 2016 Chevrolet SS Seat Belt Recall

Many 2016 Chevrolet SS sedans may soon be ready to head to their rightful homes. After General Motors ordered a stop sale for the 2016 SS three months ago, due to a seat belt tensioner recall, potential owners were left high and dry unable to take delivery of their new vehicles.

Chevrolet and General Motors have not responded to our formal requests for an update on the situation, but dealerships are reporting parts are en route. According to many owners on the official SS Forum, dealerships are reporting similar timeframes as to when parts will become available.

Each is reporting a similar availability of parts arriving within one week and dealers have been instructed to fix sold Chevrolet SS sedans first before unsold inventory is undertaken.

We’ve also heard rumors of Chevrolet reinstating the 20 percent off MSRP incentive for the final 2016 SS sedans left at dealerships. The stop sale was ordered during the final days of the firesale  hefty incentives.

  1. Well I bought mine on the 16th. Dealer said that they were told the parts had already gone out. When I finally got someone to call me back today he told me he had received some of the parts but there was still one on backorder and they had no idea at all if and when they would be on the way. Here we go again!
