Opel Ampera-e Set For A 2016 Paris Motor Show Debut

General Motors’ Opel division shocked when it revealed it would bring the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV to the European market as the Opel Ampera-e

Quite literally a reskinned version of the Bolt EV, the Ampera-e fills a void left by the previous Opel Ampera, itself a reskinned, first-generation Chevrolet Volt.

Opel has revealed it will bring the production-spec Ampera-e to the 2016 Paris Motor Show, where onlookers can grab a glimpse at the future of electric vehicles.

The Opel Ampera-e will benefit from the same design and structure of the 2017 Bolt EV, which includes a floor-mounted battery pack, and over 200 miles of charge.

Up for anyone’s guess is where the Ampera-e will be produced, but it seems likely the Orion Assembly may be shipping off more than a few Opel-badged Bolt EVs from its assembly line. Stay tuned for the 2016 Paris Motor Show where Opel will also reportedly unveil the 2017 Opel Insignia.
