This Independent Cadillac Design Concept Is Absolutely Awesome

We love independent design renderings. Whether they are of the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette, or Camaro, or even something else. In this case, we have a Cadillac, done by none other than IED Turin graduate Samir Sadikhov (in his spare time). Sadikov gained recognition in 2011 with his Ferrari Xerzi concept, which placed second in the 2011 Ferrari World Design Contest. Then in 2012, he designed for Lamborghini. It’s safe to say he knows a thing or two about red-blooded design language.

Named the “C-Ville concept,” the angular large sedan immediately has us thinking of what a more sporty, closed-top Ciel concept could be. And talk about being a looker, in all of its own ways. In no way could those sharp creases be mistaken as anything else but a Cadillac. Well done, Samir. Well done.

  1. it is something about it throwing me off……..wish he would bring up the C pillar slightly and intergrate the tailights in like on the ELR……and the grille is too boxy….i think cadillac went in the right direction with the smooth but still sharp lines…..

  2. Love the profile and the creasing.

Front end needs to be re-styled with more WOW — maybe with the same angles as the side instead of rectangular. (Lexus new grille has some different angles and it’s growing on me) or even as the basis for the grille.

    Still, very nice…..

  3. I like it…too bad it’s proportions are so off. It also wouldn’t fit in with Caddy’s design language. But I do see a little Ciel in that grille.

  4. Hmmn, I don’t know, I think you could change the grille and mistake it for a Jeep Grand Cherokee sedan. It’s certainly not a bad effort, though. Now the guy’s Ferrari Concept: that was wow. There wasn’t a lot of Ferrari to it, but it was beautiful.

  7. i like it! but to be honest Cadillac is one of the few marks with such strong and iconic design language through it’s history that only GM could make a lame Cadillac design study; and even they haven’t managed to do that. even when the Cadillacs on the street were a joke, GM was turning out beautiful concept cars and design teases.

it just makes it all the more frustrating that we have yet to see something as grand, brash, and regal as any of these concepts in the steel, cruising the street and available at a dealer near you.

      1. You must not have fully understood what I said. There are good looking Cadillacs on the street NOW. And there are decent ones comming down the pipeline. But we have yet to see a Traditional full size flagship with the wreath and crest and a visual imapact on par with all these concepts in the dealership showroom.

The ELR is a compact hybrid and will hardly be mainstream. It’s also derivative of the CTS coupe. Which is nice, but hardly grand and sophisticated like the Ciel. or Sixteen concepts.

  8. That back end is a crime against humanity, the whole car is quite awful, I can understand why he wound up doing GM designs instead of working for fiat or VAG. Caddy needs less geriatric designs and more youthful ones, cts coupe is disigned after a artcher… lame…what’s this one, a hunchback? GM has lost its orginaity just like toyota, honda and chrysler, I wouldn’t be suprised to see the next impala to have some cheap ass LED lights upfront, 2 and half tons of safty shit and 300hp v6 then the remaining custamer base they still have will be wondering why they still get shit fuel economy. Don’t get me wrong safe cars are great but they give people a fauls sense of security and results in unsafe driving habits…and midsizes with 300hp are great but cars are already over weight and gas prices are also upthere too…they need to shed some weight, keep the power reasonable, and make a car people want to drive not just look at(look at the old 86 corrola, ugly but fun to drive, same goes for the miata)make a car that makes us look forward to our drive home from and to work
