As the Bow Tie brand’s sole all-electric pickup truck offering, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV serves as an important piece in The General’s push to an EV-centric future. While the Silverado EV may not boast the extreme off-road-capabilities as other GM pickups, it’s certainly no slouch in a wide range of conditions. Now, GM Authority is taking a closer look at 2024 Silverado EV drive modes with the following explainer.
The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is available with up to five drive modes, including Normal Mode, Off-Road Mode, Tow / Haul Mode, Wide Open Watts (WOW) Mode, and My Mode. The Driver Mode Control knob is located on the center console and can be rotated to make a selection, while the selected mode’s icon will light up on the knob.
It’s worth noting that if the truck is in Tour Mode, My Mode, or Sport Mode, it will stay in that mode during future on / off cycles.
Normal Mode
Normal Mode is used for regular city and highway driving circumstances to allow for a smooth ride. This Drive Mode delivers a balance between comfort and handling. Notably, there is no persistent indicator in the instrument cluster for this mode.
Off-Road Mode
Off-Road Mode is used for all-terrain recreational driving, and should be utilized to improve driving at moderate speeds on grass, gravel, dirt, unpaved roads, or snow-covered roads. If enabled, this Drive Mode modifies steering, suspension, active rear steer, e4WD, ABS, ESC, and TCS Performance.
Tow / Haul Mode
Tow / Haul Mode is used to increase performance and vehicle control while pulling heavy loads. This Drive mode adjusts the pedal map, steering, active rear steer, suspension, and TSC performance. Notably, to activate on the Work Truck (WT) model, the Tow / Haul Mode may be enabled through a button on the center stack.
Wide Open Watts (WOW) Mode
Wide Open Watts Mode is designed for maximum propulsion and is not intended for daily use. Engaging this Drive Mode will not change the currently active mode, but will provide additional propulsion torque for maximum acceleration capabilities. WOW Mode won’t function if the Silverado EV’s battery is low.
My Mode
My Mode is used to personalize everyday driving by allowing the driver to configure the vehicle subsystem settings to their driving preferences through four settings, including acceleration pedal, steering effort, suspension, and motor sound.

I agree with the previous person. GM has lost it again. Either you are afraid of the government or you are making tons of EVs just to count as a huge loss and get more tax payer buyout. Grow up. Do away with EV and bring back the Camaro you spineless cowards. You could literally take over the auto industry. Global warming has nothing to do with driving a car!!
All it’s missing is the “Affordability Mode”
I bought the first RST in the Greater Savannah area and love it, but I’ve lost Adrenaline mode, track mode, and touring mode. Why? Also, I didn’t get the special gm gift for the first buyers. Is this no longer a thing?
