2024 Cadillac Lyriq EV Officially Launches In South Korea

Nearly a year and a half after confirming Cadillac’s EV crossover in the Asian country, General Motors has just officially launched the new 2024 Cadillac Lyriq in South Korea.

The automaker’s South Korean subsidiary launched the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq in the country’s domestic market, becoming the first all-electric vehicle based on GM’s Ultium Battery technology and Ultium Drive propulsion systems to arrive in South Korea. The Lyriq is being unveiled at a special exhibition at The House of GM in Seoul and will officially go on sale in July.

“Cadillac has channeled all of the brand’s capabilities into the Lyriq to carry its initial slogan from 122 years ago, ‘The Standard of the World’, in the EV era,” said Chief Marketing Officer of GM Korea, Myongok Yoon. “The Lyriq’s value has already been recognized, ranking first in sales among luxury brands in the North American EV market in the first quarter. We hope domestic customers will experience the new level of luxury EV that the Lyriq offers,” she added.

In particular, the new 2024 Cadillac Lyriq EV was launched in the South Korean market in a single configuration corresponding to the Sport trim level, equipped with AWD and dual Ultium Drive motors as standard. The 2024 Lyriq units for Korea are equipped with a 102-kilowatt battery pack with NCMA cathodes arranged in 12 modules, allowing it to reach a range of 465 kilometers (or 289 miles) on a single charge.

As in North America, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport AWD powertrain for South Korea delivers 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, the crossover features a full complement of class-leading safety and technology equipment, including the advanced 33-inch 9K curved display and the Cadillac Smart System suite of driver assistance features, as well as the 19-speaker AKG Studio premium audio system.

The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport will be available for sale this month at official dealerships and on the brand’s official website in South Korea, kicking off the company’s new zero-emissions strategy offensive in the country. The 2024 Lyriq is coming to the South Korean market with units imported from the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, which supplies the majority of the international markets where it is offered except China.

The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport is priced at 106,960,000 won in South Korea, about $77,280 USD at the current exchange rate.
