Refreshed 2024 Buick Envision Plus Launches In China

Following the official debut of the 2024 Buick Envision Plus in China at the end of May, SAIC-GM has now launched the extended-length variant of the refreshed Buick Envision in the Asian country.

General Motors’ main joint venture in China has launched the 2024 Buick Envision Plus in the domestic market, where the Envision Plus boasting an extended wheelbase and overall length is exclusively sold. The automaker revealed the final configuration of the 2024 Envision Plus with notable changes from the previous model year, including a refreshed exterior design, the latest interior technology, and cabin enhancements.

In addition to the redesigned front end inspired by the brand’s Pure Design language, and the next-generation interior, the 2024 Buick Envision Plus launches exclusively in a five-seat configuration, meaning it no longer offers a three-row seating option – at least for now. SAIC-GM says it has tweaked the second row of the refreshed 2024 Envision Plus to offer a “fully extended” five-seat layout that better serves customer needs.

The initial lineup of the refreshed 2024 Buick Envision Plus in China is comprised of three variants across two distinctive trim levels, including a new standard Exclusive trim and the range-topping Avenir. Both have distinct design elements and finishes on the exterior and inside the cabin, but feature the class-leading 30-inch Eyemax 6K curved display and list of advanced safety equipment.

Mechanically, all versions of the 2024 Buick Envision Plus are motivated by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY engine producing 174 kW or 233 horsepower along with 350 Nm or 258 pound-feet of torque, working in conjunction with a 48V mild-hybrid system as standard. The powerplant is coupled exclusively to GM’s nine-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to the front wheels in the base Exclusive FWD variant and to all four wheels in the Exclusive AWD and Avenir AWD.

The refreshed 2024 Buick Envision Plus is now available for sale throughout the brand’s extensive network of official dealers in China, Buick’s primary volume market and the only manufacturing site for the Envision globally. The model offers plenty of standard equipment and generous purchase benefits, including full tax exemption for specific customers. Here are the prices for the three launch versions of the 2024 Envision Plus:

  • 2024 Envision Plus Exclusive: 229,900 yuan (about $31,690 USD at the current exchange rate)
  • 2024 Envision Plus Exclusive AWD: 239,900 yuan (about $33,070 USD)
  • 2024 Envision Plus Avenir AWD: 259,900 yuan (about $35,830 USD)

  1. NO, we don’t need this in the US, so don’t ask. Not sure how much longer the regular Envision will last in the US due to country of origin. And the prices are ridiculous for having been made there. GM must be raking in the buckos on that one.

    1. Considering the Envision is one of the highest selling Buicks it’s gonna stay on market longer than you’ll live probably. Sorry!

    2. It’s cheaper than the XT4, and you get basically the same content packages as the XT4. So try again? Anyone looking for a E2 platform would be dumb to buy an XT4 when you can get the same thing in an Envision for thousands less.

  2. Size-wise, it would be nice to have a vehicle that slots in-between the Buick Envision and the Buick Enclave. Since this Buick Envision Plus is already being produced in China, it should be a straight-forward matter to bring it here. To my eyes, the proportions are just right on this.

    1. I agree. Give it a shot at least. I would consider this instead of another Acadia.

      1. Envision Plus is right sized for US roads. Envision must be very profitable, there has been little Made in China backlash, do this vehicle would be perfect. I even think Chinese Enclave might be a solid addition but could cannibalize large Enclave. GM is nuts not to better utilize Chinese factory and 8increase US sales

  3. Can we get this in the USA please? The Envision is too small, would be nice to have something a little larger. Gorgeous interior.

  4. Build it here and let me be the first cash buyer.

  5. This is absolutely the right size for the USA, not the Envision we have now. It looks and feels too small for it’s price!!!
Bring this one to the States at the current price point, and sales will increase 50% or more. I guarantee it!!!

  6. I’ve looked at this car, driven this car, but won’t buy it until it is manufactured In the US.
I’m getting ready to purchase my last vehicle as our Buick is 12 years old , however we are not looking at GM this time. Yes, I have called the factory many times to make them aware of our situation.

    1. I hope when you called the factory, they explained that GM is a global corporation, with vehicles and parts and supplies sourced from around the world. The Buick Envision has had very good reviews and, if we presume you were satisfied with the Buick you’ve had for 12 years, it would be a shame that you don’t choose this excellent vehicle.

  7. Odd that the sleek inovative designs and bright interiors are able to be made only in China.

  8. When are they going to offer more current engine options such as full hybrid (Lexus/Toyota are crushing that market), PHEV, or full electric? I want better mileage from a car this size.
