A month after the official presentation of the all-new Wuling Bingo Plus EV in China, SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) has just revealed powertrain detrails for the new Wuling all-electric crossover in the Asian country.
General Motors’ second joint venture in China revealed powertrain specifications and some other details of the all-new Wuling Bingo Plus EV, the new crossover variant of the subcompact vehicle that will officially turn the Bingo EV range into a family of models. This will happen before the end of the first quarter of the year, as SGMW announced that it will launch the Bingo Plus in a few days and it will be available in the Chinese market during the month of March.
Notably, the automaker confirmed for the first time that the all-new Wuling Bingo Plus EV is powered by a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle that develops a maximum output of 75 kW or 100 horsepower, along with 180 Nm or 133 pound-feet of torque. According to a previous leak, this engine will be produced by supplier Shandong Shuanglin New Energy Technology Co., Ltd under model code “TZ180XS275.”
The all-new Wuling Bingo Plus EV’s powertrain is fed by a lithium iron phosphate battery pack with a capacity of 50.6 kWh, manufactured by SGMW, which becomes the largest among the joint venture’s lineup of small zero-emission vehicles. According to the manufacturer, the Bingo Plus’ battery pack provides a range of 510 kilometers or 317 miles on a full charge, according to the China Light Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC).
In contrast to the Wuling Bingo Plus EV’s new powertrain, the standard Bingo EV equips a single electric motor mounted on the front axle with outputs of 30 kW and 50 kW, equivalent to 40 and 67 horsepower, respectively. Meanwhile, its 17.3 kWh and 31.9 kWh battery packs respectively certify a maximum driving range of 203 km (126 miles) and 333 km (207 miles) on a single charge.
The all-new Wuling Bingo Plus EV will be officially launched in China shortly and will be available for sale at the brand’s dealer network before the end of the month. The new Bingo Plus will further expand Wuling’s zero-emission vehicle portfolio as the first all-electric crossover in the brand’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) range, initially composed exclusively of minicars.

Really people, I don’t think anyone really cares what GM is building for the Chinese only market!
Many do care because over 50% of the profits comes back to GM in the USA. Not so for the thousands of other Asian cars sold here, where those profits go back to Asia. Complain to your lawmakers about those imports!
Its a GM Authority site. So to be fair, Wuling news is GM news. The one silver lining I see with the Wuling news is that it shows GM does have EV expertise to tap into and cools my concern that they may fail in the transition. So just because their Ultiums are having a bit of a rough start here Stateside doesn’t mean GM doesn’t have a clue how to build an EV. I would argue of the legacy automakers they are probably best positioned to make the transition provided they don’t f*** anything up.
The regular EV Bingo goes from $8,500 to $12,100. This model must be in the vicinity of $15,000. Expensive for China, but reasonable.
I see the bottom of the line EV Bingo going for as low as 10,000 PMB in China, they are having a fire sale!
What a stupid name ~ BINGO was a dog character. Who comes up with these idiotic ideas?
Better than ORA Good Cat. Oh the pu$$y jokes one can make with that.
