2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Now On Sale In Australia And NZ

A couple of months after launching Chevrolet’s heavy-duty truck in Australia, GM Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) has just officially unveiled the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD to the press in that country and New Zealand.

The General Motors subsidiary in Oceania held the official presentation event of the 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD in Australia and New Zealand, now that the refreshed Silverado HD is arriving at dealerships in the second country before the end of the first quarter of the year – as the company had announced. The 2024 Silverado 2500 HD arrives as the most robust variant of the truck in the region and is now available throughout the GMSV dealer network.

“The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models can more than hold their own when it comes to touring and towing, but the 2500 HD is the truck you need when you want to get a big job done – it amplifies power, performance, and functionality,” said Managing Director of GM Australia & New Zealand, Jess Bala. “The new Silverado HD is an even more attractive proposition for people who need the capability and functionality that drives them from the weekly worksite right through to their big weekend activities,” she added.

At the 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD media drive event for Australia and New Zealand, held on Australian territory, GMSV highlighted the refreshed model’s improved towing, technology and comfort features that raise the bar in the ‘tough truck’ segment from both countries, where the Silverado HD will have the Ram 2500 as the only competitor. In fact, the truck is aimed primarily at users who require towing.

Notably, the 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD maintains a unique configuration for Australia and New Zealand comprised of a specific trim level called LTZ Premium that comes standard with the Z71 off-road package, body-colored trim, and black Chevy Bow Tie emblems. It’s equipped with the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine with 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque, mated to the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission.

The 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD has been available for sale at official GMSV dealerships in Australia since the end of December and has just arrived at the company’s New Zealand dealer network in the middle of this month. Here is suggested pricing of the 2024 Silverado 2500 HD in both countries, including taxes but before legal charges and dealer delivery fees:

  • 2024 Silverado 2500 HD LTZ Premium Australia: 163,000 AUD (about $106,850 USD at the current exchange rate)
  • 2024 Silverado 2500 HD LTZ Premium NZ: 175,000 NZD (about $106,520 USD at the current exchange rate)
