Refreshed 2024 Nissan Rogue Revealed As Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain Rival

Nissan has officially unveiled the 2024 Nissan Rogue, pulling the sheets on a refreshed crossover offering updated styling, new tech features, and a variety of safety items. Under the hood, the 2024 Nissan Rogue features a standard Variable Compression Turbo engine. When it launches early next year, the 2024 Nissan Rogue will rival the Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain.

The new styling includes revised front and rear fascias, with the front end incorporating the brand’s latest V-motion grille, and the rear end showing off new taillight graphics. Exterior paint options include Everest White Pearl, Deep Ocean Blue Pearl, Baja Storm, and numerous two-tone options pairing with a black roof. There’s also a slew of new wheel designs, plus new colors and textures for the cabin.

The 2024 Nissan Rogue is the first Nissan to offer Google built-in, with Google Assistant, Google Maps, and other apps available on Google Play, all without required smartphone pairing. Apple CarPlay is also included as standard. Both systems include wired connections on S and SV trim levels, and wireless connections on SL and Platinum trim levels. Further infotainment features include a 12.3-inch HD color touchscreen offered higher in the trim level lineup, paired with a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster on SL trims. Meanwhile, 2024 Nissan Rogue S and SV trims incorporate an 8-inch touchscreen.

There’s also a wealth of standard safety features, such as Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, and Rear Automatic Braking.

Under the hood, you’ll find a standard turbocharged 1.5L three-cylinder gasoline engine, which features variable compression and pairs with a Nissan Xtronic CVT. Maximum output is rated at 201 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque. Both FWD and AWD are offered.

The refreshed 2024 Nissan Rogue will go on sale at U.S. dealers early next year. Pricing information is expected at a later date.

  1. My niece has an older Nissan Rogue. It is smaller and weaker than my 2009 Equinox. This Japanese item will never win over the Equinox, much less beat it except in price because it is a cheaper made item. When the EV version comes out this year, it will be a great selling vehicle. GM has nothing to worry about losing Equinox sales to imports.

    1. OLDER Nissan Rogue. Yes. The 2.5 naturally aspirated engine was a dog for a vehicle that size. And it got crappy mileage to boot (~20 mpg all around). But it was a very solid vehicle in all other ways. The new Rogue has like 40 more horsepower and borders on sporty. Oh, and that same all-around MPG is about 30+ now. Meanwhile, GM’s 3 cylinder turbos don’t even have as much power as the OLD Rogue engine.

  2. Gradually autos with 3 cylinder engines are entering which is good in the world of $90/barrel oil.

  3. It appears that Nissan rushed the 1.5L Turbo to market without sufficient testing. It has BIG problems, including engine&turbo failure and gas fumes eminating from the vehicle in massive amounts. Nissan has no known fixes. All because the media wouldn’t stop whining about the reliable 2.5L. Goes to show that speed doesn’t always work out.

    1. Rushed? The current Rogue came out as a 2021 model, with the 2.5 L engine. I’m sure they would have preferred to put the new engine in the new vehicle at launch. That sounds more like taking your time than rushing.
