The slight increase in GM Mexico sales in May continues the stabilization of the automaker’s volume in the country, with the results representing the second consecutive monthly increase, following the nine percent growth in April. In addition, last month’s result is GM’s third month in the green thus far this year in the Mexican market, enabled by strong performance of the company’s most recent vehcle launches.
Despite the huge gap created by the discontinued Chevy Beat as well as the double-digit drop experienced by the Chevy Aveo – GM’s best-selling vehicle in Mexico – GM Mexico sales volume increased during the month due to very strong showings of several Chevrolet models, which managed to outperform the 1,000 sales mark.
Specifically, we the Chevy Silverado, Onix and Tracker all posted substantial gains, while the all-new Chevy S10 Max and Tornado Van added incremental volume, while posting their best records to date in May.
In addition, all the models offered by Cadillac in the Mexican market posted sales gains during the month, while GMC saw the highest growth rate in the company thanks to a notable increase in volume of the locally-manufactured GMC Terrain as well as healthy acceptance of its full-size models.
At a time of year when luxury car ATP usually rises.
